I'm currently taking 8 mg. of xanax. during the day abou 40 mg. of valium. i have been doing this for about a week so i dont expect with drawls. What should i do to get back to that 2mg xanax high. I hate wasting my pills. Thanks for the help.

Ok bro this is what you can do.

Go out and buy you some bud.
Then stop your benzo use completely.
Smoke the weed to combat your lack of benzos.

Then every few days or so try take some xanax.
Start out at 2mg and see what it does If it dosnt work try upping the dose to see were you are at, If your tolerance is still high wait a few more day.

Your use is completely out of control, stop now, or you'll face some serious consequences, you think you won't get any withdrawals at this point, but I wouldn't be surprised if you do get at least some, due to the Valium at its doses, its gonna be in your system long after you pop that last pill.

At least a month of not taking ANY. Maybe two. Benzo tolerance takes forever. As mentioned, if you keep on with doses like that you're going to be for a world of trouble.

Can't say it better than this. Take a step back, reconsider your use

If you want to lower your tolerance take a loooong break

I was on a similar dosage of xanax for about 6 months. I still take benzos, but I avoid xanax as much as I can. The withdrawals from xanis can be deadly if you quit cold turkey. If i were you i'd decrease by 2 mg every other day, then when you get to 1 mg, take 1 mg, skip a day, take 1 the next day, for about a week. Then stop completely until it gets out of your system, maybe 3-4 weeks. very nasty drug due to the short half-life. I switched to klonopin personally, but i do miss those bars.

k please help i just got 3mg alaprozam aka xanax and 0.5 instant release alaprozam/xanax what would be the best way to take booth how strong are they i heard better then real zanny if crushed or should i snort help please

I don't find it a good idea. Stop completely for some time (like 2 months) then check.

pzdr

ok i have been prescribed bith of the drugs you are asking about andf cna give you some firsthand advice. to me benzo tolerance is the absolute worst i have ever experienced. it builds almost daily. also, id say a month break is almost not enough. for me after 1.5 months the benzos only wrked half s good as they initially did. my advice is to find anything u can do to keep ur mind off benzos and hoenstly try to forget about them for a long, long time. dnt count te days till u think u can do mre. it will onyl dissapoint u.

Don't snort those pills it will not work

You have a total of 3.5 milligrams of xanax. This would be enough for two doses if you dont have a tolerance. Or it would be enough for one big dose. You don't need to crush the pills just find a way to split them so you'll have two equal doses.

I've been worse off for sure, but even if you don't get addicted it can be risky in other ways like short circuiting a bit of the anxiety center in the brain. Like they said stop it all and wait 3 or 4 weeks and try 1mg, if you can't feel it wait another couple of weeks and try again. Once you can do yourself a favor and set yourself some kind of hard limit like 2mg/day that you'll never go above. Because that amount will end up doing just as much for you as any other higher amount you might climb back to. Skip days and weeks regularly. Real easy to fuck up slowly on those things and not realize what you're doing.

I was taking clonazepam constantly for about a year, low dose (1.5mg) and some days I got bored, you know how it is, and ate most of my stash. I finished 3 months in about 6 weeks and then went another 6 weeks clean - thankfully no w/d. When my new Rx came in after the next 6 weeks (3 month cycle), I took 2.5mg (slightly more than my normal dose) and blacked out. My mom was pissed with me because I was behaving like a lunatic, I don't remember a thing.

So my tolerance dropped significantly over 6 weeks, and that's with a very long half-life benzo, I'd expect the shorter half life stuff drops quicker. Although my usage was extremely light.

I have been on xanax for a very long time at my worst point i was taking between 12-18 2mg bars a day
i stopped taking them cold turkey and on day three i had a seziure
you can use them but justlike any other drug you have to use in moderation

as much as i dont wanna admit it i totally agree with the above poster. Benzo addiction sneaks up on you & Valium has a super long half life. Seriously if you havent experienced benzo withdrawal i cant stress enough you DO NOT want to have that experience! Seriously that electrical shock thing is nasttyyy as hell. When i first experienced it i was only familiar with opiate withdrawal so my general reaction was like "What the fuck was that!?" Take at least a month off from all benzo's.

does benzo tolerance only go down for the high (sedative and drowsy effects) or also for the anti anxiety releif?

take the valium only for a while on a taper and see how long you can go without for after the taper.

ill do the same doses as you but not at the same time, ie 8mg xanax a day for 10-12 days then a box of valium over the next 12 days. never seem to run out that way

I read somewhere that tolerance can take up to 3 years to go down!

I have experienced tolerance reversal over a couple of months. But my doses were never as high or as frequent as yours although it went for a longer period of time. I was asking someone in another thread if it takes longer each time you try and reverse it but I'm sure it is different for everyone.
