I have a feeling prices for strong opiates/opioids are going to be increasing greatly.
Glad I'm on bupe...

I agree about more regulations on the patches, actually. My friend's mom died in her sleep on a duragesic patch. Guess she rolled on top of it and her body heat sped it up. The doctor had switched her directly from Vicodin to fuckin' Duragesic?! Anyway, fentanyl is dangerous shit. People smoking/eating the gel are playing with fire like crazy, and I'd like to see a little bit more regulation in how those get passed out. I was a pain patient at age 18, so I feel the pain (literally) of young people who live with pain because doctors won't prescribe them medication. I'd hate to see them more afraid to prescribe ANYTHING that a patient truly needs, either way, but maybe makin' 'em take a class or pass a quiz at least about the patches and their dangers would be a good idea.
this is tru, fentanyl can be dangerous, but when it comes to abuse, its pretty rare, its extremely hard to get on the streets were i live, and heroin is verry popular in certain areas nearby, god dammit wut is the FDA/DEA doing??? im SURE much more people die from heroin than fentanyl, only because of its popularity though, here its 15 bucks a bag for heroin, and 30 bucks for an oxy 40??? thats practically .80 a mg for a pill for something not as NEARLY strong as something u can get for half the price that'll whack u outta ur mind 2 times more? thats just crazy, and yes i do know wut im talking about many people i know switched to H because of teh high oxy street prices, unless they stole it from their fuckin grandma pfftI can agree with you but from everything they've given me from Hydro, Morphine, Oxycodone, etc... ... ...Fentanyl patches have by far been the best thing for me with the least side effects and have also given my life a normal feeling again. I slap a patch on for three day and forget about it. I feel for your freinds mom though. Vicodin straight to Fentanyl is a horrible idea. I was already up to 120 mg's of Morphine and 60 mg's of Oxycodone for breakthru pain before they switched me to Durasegic Fentanyl Patches. You need to build a BIG tolerance to opiates before you can even think about taking Fentanyl. I know these things are dangerous and kill people though. I can understand that. They really need to find someway to fight the heating releasing more medication issue though! I've read a few stories of this causing bad reactions. For me though fentanyl so far has been a life saver of a pain reliever and I can't put a price on that because nothing was working for me that well before.
This will just pave the way for more HEROIN abuse.
I highly doubt that it will reduce overdoses. Just makes it harder to get for those who need it.

.
Hopefully, heroin will become more available at lower prices to account for the decreased availability of prescription opioids, not that it will affect me (heroin is not available in my area),

someone told me that roxicodone is NONEXISTANT in south florida
regular 80s are still around
but the "blues" (30mg instant-release oxycodone - roxicodone) that everyeone is so in love with are GONE
