1.) The Knife
2.) David Bowie (Pre 1980)
3.) Way Out West
4.) Lemon Jelly
5.) Animal Collective (inc. Panda Bear solo album)

I'm still trying to figure out the point of separating DJ's from producers. I'm my favorite DJ because I only play shit I like, so I'd be #1 for sure.

^^^ That is a good point.

I am not really clear on all these distinctions either, so I am just going to list 5 names.

John Digweed
Sasha
Nick Warren
Paul Van Dyk
Robert Miles
Nostrum

Great set, love the vibe warren puts out, his back to mine cd is unbelievable, best thing ever for a spaced out bus ride=D

The Howells GU - Miami is one of my favorites. I have 6 of the 8 Nick Warren sets in the series and I think they are all great. Does he still spin? I was able to experience Sasha and Digweed, Van Dyk, and Oakenfold live, but never Nick Warren.

Warren's Reykjavic GU set is the best GU, bar none.

If you like Nick, check out Way Out West. He is 1/2 of that group. I'd suggest Way out West - Live at Glastonbury (2004-06-17). Also if you like Howells, check out "Renaissance Revelation" which features both Warren and Howells.

I saw WoW back in 2005 in TO. You can check my gallery, I think I still have a few pics of that meetup.

Reykjavic is one of the two I do not have. I want to get it and also the Way OUt Wast CDs, as well as any Danny Howells CDs, but I am poor at the moment.

Well you can download the Glastonbury set through torrent. I don't believe it's available in retail.

Think you'll enjoy it man, love warren's GU's as well especially his last few (Reykjavik, Shanghai and paris are up there with me favourite CDs), Global Underground is probably my favourite mix series, there are so many good CDs in it (Sasha's San Fransisco is one of the best things ever released imo). Love the miami one too, great music :D , the Tantra track on its pure class tho I actually prefer the original, a whole 10 minutes of 80's funk =D

Danny Howells still DJs, usually plays here in northern ireland every 12 months or so (unfortunately haven't been able to catch him yet).
Another DJ i'm loving at the minute is lee burridge, try this set, first 20 minutes or so are pure class:

Had the pleasure of seeing burridge play six months or so, was an unreal night. Going to see anthony pappa on monday night, should be a good one!

Ah, Anthony Pappa. He was featured in that GU Nubreed series if I am not mistaken. Correct me if I am. I have not heard his work much.

Shanghai and Paris are just Pure Brilliance.

What I am wondering is, Who should I go see in the US to hear live music of this caliber? I don't know what's what or who's who any more.

Yeah Pappa did one of the nubreed series (number 5 i think?) and he did Balance 6 as well, he's a great dj, saw him last year and it was a class night.

Sorry man, don't know much about the American scene tbh, apart from Omar S and steve porter. Interestingly enough the local guy bringing over Anthony Pappa's called Stephen Porter as well, great local northern irish DJ, he warmed up for Digweed when he was over the other week. Here's the link for it if you fancy a listen to it.

Just heard that jody wisternoff (the other half of WoW) is playing here on easter monday too 8o , gonna be a tough decision between him and Anthony Pappa, spoilt for choice!:D

I'd see Jody if the venue is intimate.

Then come back and tell me all about it :)

Venue probably only fits about 150 people :) , only problem with that is there'll probably be 200 in, sardines springs 2 mind. Should be an epic night any way, might get a bit of magic to make it extra special
