New York Rave Scene

Just moved to New York for school. I've heard from other forums (ravelinks) that the NY rave scene is dead. Is that true?
 
used to go to a lot of parties in NYC..especially at All of the Brass Monkey parties ..Boo And parties at the Octagon were freakin sick!!! There used to be a lot under the brooklyn bridge that were filled with good vibes and a ton of good people. I started the scene in the early 90's in ny. If I had enough bank I open my own club and bring back the good ole days!!

NYC is bumping in the rave scene, from happy hardcore, to dnb, to breaks, to jungle, phys trance and all.....


Everything is just on the Dl most of the time...
 
From what i hear from friends the Drum and Bass scene is pretty big
lots of underground parties and warehouse events

nothing big like SoCal has though

I remember always something goin on in NYC back before 9/11. There was Boo which was sick, and sooo many other great party's. I havn't heard of shit for a long time now... There are many clubs and bars, but non like it used to be... Sound Factory and the Peladium "spelling," or when the Peladium was open were when shit was hot... I don't know what happend since then besides drinks costing more than gold... and all the hot bitch's turned arab and indian and asian...
 
Nyc has parties like every weekend...

and like outlaws every weekend...

and if your otta the scene waay to long

Yeah, XperiencedMe2 sent me that link. Been checking stuff out on there for a while.

I've actually caught a couple of things. Went to that 12 Stones rave thing in Brooklyn two weekends ago and went to Rubulad last weekend after the newmindspace party got shut down. Really fun night, but I'm still recovering.

Some dude was telling me there's some big deal rave called "Candy Ball" in April, but didn't really give me much more than that.

All in all, finding my way around pretty well for a newb to the area I think :P

i just moved back to NY. While I was in venezuela and D.R. the minimal tech rave scene was booming, still is. a lot of the djs from M-nus did raves out there, like richie hawtins, marc houle, magda, frank lorber...etc.
I dont really know anyone in that scene here,
if any of you could help me find my way, id really appreciate if we could communicate via e-mail or something
