Ketamine test kit?

Is there a kit available on the market to test the purity of ketamine?

i was speaking to a friend in europe and we started discuussing the differences between very psychedelic and not so psychedelic ketamine... i was convinced that the differences were caused by chemical differences (ie. different isomers), he told me that it was all down to the purity, and that there is a commercially available testing kit with a colour chart where you compare the shade on the chart to the shade of your sample that has been mixed with the tester and this will tell you the approximate purity.

i don't even experiment with ketamine, but the number of people i have met who do experiment with this means i thought i would have come accross this test kit before.... does anyone know about this test kit or have any experience with it?
 
You don't buy pills of Ketamine. Liquid or powder is what you'll find.

I think there is a purity testing kit. I know some ecstasy kits test for the presence of Ketamine but not for the purity of it.

You can buy it in sealed pharmaceutical bottles if you have a connect. You could then boil it down or IV.

hahaha, thanks for that...

i know what forms k is available in, but i didn't know exactly where to ask about a purity testing kit, so i thought the pill testing place may suffice....

anyone with any info on a ketamine purity testing kit would be greatly appreciated... when u google it i just seem to get results for things that will test for ketamine in your piss.
 
AFAIK, there is no tester on the market that can tell you the purity of ketamine. I know EZ Test has one for cocaine purity (EZ Test White), maybe that was the one your friend was thinking of? FWIW: Mandelin reagent will turn orange/brown w/ketamine (if you need to test for the presence).
 
Ketamine comes in two flavours. S-isomer and racemic. I'm a little confused as to which is the more "psychedelic". I've only tasted the s-isomer, which I believe is close to twice the potency in weight to the racemic. I've had 98% purity and it was a white crystalline substance. It looked not unlike salt, except the crystals were a lot smaller. It had a strong smell, that I can only describe as being like hospital, if that makes any sense.

I'm unaware of a specific test for purity. However it being a crystalline substance I'm unsure of what you could cut it with, without it being obvious to the eye. Excuse my rambling. I've been up all night railing mmcat/mephedrone and I'm tweaked and unlikely to sleep until tommorow night.

Nope

As R_B said, there are no tests available to test for ketamine purity...at least not one the public has access to.

Gold Bromide is a recognised test reagent for ketamine. Mandelin reagent (1g Ammonium vanadate in 100mL conc sulfuric acid) will indicate the presence of ketamine. It may be possible to indicate purity using a colorimeter or by absorption spectra, but standards would be needed.
 
i also believe the psychadelic effects from K are a result from the different balance of isomers. true?
 
exactly, difference in potency is determined by isomers, although i can't remeber which was the more potent. as for purity: try to get your hands on the ampoules, veterinary quality. this way you know what you're getting. with the test kits we have now we can only detect its presence.
 
i have been trying, ampoules of liquid isnt too common around here unfortunately tho lol, id love to come across one.
