halcion?

This is some back in the day shit. I haven't seen it around. I think the closest thing thats common today is Restoril.

i got a script for it a few days ago...my psych is a robot who prescribes anything you dictate and then finishes with a short lecture about "you DO know the side effects, dont you?" and i nod.

but halcion is a bad idea. its ok to use for a few weeks literally. then it leads to rebound insomnia and more problems usually...some people..few people...take halcion for years , but those people are rare. i would recommend Dalmane....most docs will not give you Halcion, but Dalmane they will consider safer, even though its far more addictive....

stick to ambien.

restoril suckssss

and the think i like about halcion is the short half life

Valium how do you like it for sleep? any rec value?

i got my hands on a full bottle of this a few months ago (in the US). it was prescribed to a friend for insomnia. its like uber xanax. take it sublingualy, it will kick in even faster than xanax. it is quite powerful. powerful enough that it might take you a time or two to get the dose right and really have a proper experience; one too many and you'll be be too fucked up to know you're fucked up and soon asleep. i would say .25mg of halcion equals .75mg of xanax. but that doesnt work perfectly, once you start going up in doses it's different and that conversion doesnt hold true.

I would take valium over halcion (or any other benzo i've tried), but not if i had a legitimate sleeping problem.

Is this still prescribed? Anyone use it for sleep? Its supposed to be really powerful?

It is powerful as fuck.

i took .5 mg halcion + 1 mg xanax before school one day and ended up waking up confused at like 9:30 PM with no recollection of the day's events.*

*ok, i lied, i remember being waken up over and over in class then going back to sleep.

Restoril most certainly does not suck. Temazepam is by far the most euphoric benzo ive ever tried and many other people agree thats it's one of the only benzos that produces real euphoria. It's the only one that i ever had a problem with at all i'll go through 30 30mg temazepams in no time and it's the only benzo id trade a opiate for. I wouldnt even trade codeine for most other benzos.

Unfortunatly doctors are now catching on to the fact that temazepam is a choice benzo of abuse so it's getting harder and harder to get a script for it. I can still manage though sometimes. I think temazepam is about the most abused benzo worldwide.

I havent tried halcion myself as it's practically never scripted in canada but from what ive heard it's not very euphoric really. Most people that i know that have tried it say it's a knock out drug that causes alot of amnesia. Good for sleep and thats about it.

Benzos are pretty subjective though and everyone has different tastes when it comes to benzos so you might like it. If it's anything like it's relative xanax i'll pass on it. Xanax is one benzo that i don't care for at all.

Halcion is recreational.. sort of.. if you like skipping days. Same with Xanax at higher doses, but triolazam was not enjoyable for me at all. not bad, persay, just, where are the memories ya know.

And yea, Temazepam, to me, is not the wonder drug you make it out to be. i took 90 mg one day, and went out and smoked a joint, and i barely even had a strange day once the weed wore off. several other times i tried to take 60 mg and didn't notice shit.

however the pills were from '00 so that could have contributed in some way..

while i love benzos, i never get euphoric with them. i've tried most of the more popular ones (ativan, xanax, temazepam, halcion, valium) the usefulness of a benzo, to me, is skipping unpleasant days and sort of going on a vacation without going anywhere. i have never been on a benzo and thought to myself "man i feel great!" it's either "i'm not feeling anything" or, of course, later on "I don't remember anything"

Pretty pointless, but I like erasing my memories.

Yeah its still prescribed but not too commonly. Halcion is one of my favorite benzo's, that stuff is no joke and nothing to play around with.

Yea, I am prescribed this my doctor gave me a script about 2 weeks ago. i found it very recreational in the begining and im on it now but i cant even sleep. i cant believe how high my tolerance got so fast i didnt even take it everyday, benzos usually work very well for my sleep (insomnia) but i hated waking up exhausted from the long half life of clonzepam so i got this. i guess he rarely prescribes it but did to me.

stick to ambien.

dude, some people just can't handle the emotionally disturbing hallucinations and dreams accompanied by ambien. i consider myself a borderline bipolar personality and ambien, thought i've been using it for years, has just been eliminated as a sleep-aid option for Halcion.

there's another thread on here that talks about just this topic. halcion is a great alternative for someone not looking for a recreational benzo but a sleep-aid when ambien isn't cutting it.

think youve hit the nail on the head there

halcion is kinda like the crack of the benzo world, very short acting but very potent both by effects and weight(dose). it is a "hypnotic" benzo and is similar in effect to temazepam, flunitrazepam, and nitrazepam(but with a much shorter duration).

the mix of strong euphoric sedative effects(due to tight receptor binding) and short duration make it especially addictive and dangerous compared to other benzos like diazepam or lorazepam, so it is not very commonly perscribed.
