i was in the 6th grade and feeling real good at the dentists

he asked how i was doing
i said can you turn up more of the good stuff

he blasted me out into orbit with the n2o

after my teeth where drilled and filled
it took me a while to walk

my head was in a fog all night

i think that dentist gave me just a lil too much
butt fuck i asked for it'

its important to mix your nitrous oxide with an equal amount of oxygen to not deprive your brain and heart of what it needs. its easy to think that you are recieving enough oxygen when you're not... be careful.

While this is definately good advice, I would just like to add that medical grade nitrous oxide is usually mixed with oxygen already, I believe the ratio is 70% n2o : 30% O2.
Nitrous used in whipped cream chargers is 99% pure.

I hate the black greasy stuff that ends up coating the inside of the whipper - anyone got any tips on cleaning it? I've tried water and a bit of washing up liquid but no joy. :\

Nitrous - tank question

what type of tank do i need to fill with nitrous?

can i use a co2 tank or a nitrogen tank or what?

i'm trying to find a cheaper one then what has been offered to me but i don't know exactly what kind of tank it is i need.

medical grade tank? what kind of tank is that?

the one i would be buying from the internet would be new - the one my friend offered me has only been used for nitrous and he cleans it like once a month.

i just need to know what sort of steel i need.

i am looking now and i see their are

co2 tanks and nitrogen tanks.

That sounds like an awesome idea. I go through a whip it box in like 15 minutes using my canister. I would have a lot of fun with a whole tank!

like said before, anything medical grade, even oxygen tanks from hospitals, you could find a cheap one at a medical supply store, just make sure you know how to fill it properly, or you could have a nice big leak of a lot of nitrous, which could be very fun for a short while, and then you'd be pissed all your nitrous is gone.

You're probably buying "auto-grade" nitrous (or whatever they call it), and you're going to inhale a lot of shit like hydrogen sulfate and other toxic chemicals.
Thats why everyone is saying "medical grade" ... as in the kind used in medical settings.
If it doesn't say medical grade, it isn't medical grade.
Please get the clean kind.

Well, it depends who fills my tanks what gas i get.

If i get my friends north of Philly to fill my tanks it comes from Boston and is medical grade nitrous

if i go up to philly to fill up its industrial nitrous which is used for cars, in restaurants, etc.

either way, its all bad for you and killing brain cells.

i'm not concerned about that - i just need to know what sort of tank to purchase but i guess what you all are telling me is it doesnt matter, i can get a co2 tank, an oxygen tank, a nitrogen tank, etc. - you all are just saying make sure its clean or clean it out prior to filling - i get that.

looks like i'm hitting up the medical supply outlet in the next week to see the deals they got.

the deal i'm being offered from a buddy of mine who has his license to fill in the state of PA is 100 dollars for the 20 pound tank. i could go directly to the place he gets his shit filled and start there but that is like a 4 hour drive from me and it just seems easier to buy the steel and send him up there with my tank and his license to fill.

either way, its all bad for you and killing brain cells.
Yes, but there's a difference:
If i get my friends north of Philly to fill my tanks it comes from Boston and is medical grade nitrous
This.

Is not as bad as...
if i go up to philly to fill up its industrial nitrous which is used for cars, in restaurants, etc.
...this. The impurities in this will fuck your brain even more than nitrous ever could.

The difference is most definitely stainless steel. Regular steel tanks are vulnerable to rust and corosion. Makes sense right? Would you want to be cut with a rusty scapel? And just because a tank was used successfully in the past doesn't mean its ok now. On average ferous metal left alone degrades about 5 thousanths of an inch a year without proper coating or maintenance, you don't want to breath it in. Especially not directly.

Ummm I thought it was a WHOLE lot more dangerous to inhale auto grade nitrous, actually im almost sure... not to say you cannot acquire some not as dangerous nitrous... like i think restaurant grade isnt as bad either but not as pure either as medical... good luck have fun....its for sure not as dangerous as most inhalants, unless ur actually using auto industry crap ;)

Just a word of caution here. The big medical tanks are extremely dangerous for party fare because they are very high pressure units and most often utilize a single knob to control the pressure, so just turning the knob slightly too far will result in frostbite of the throat. Most people turning the knob are half blitzed from previous hits on the tank...so you can see where it is just an accident waiting to happen.

This has happened to many people, so please do not take this warning lightly.
