I'm sure I'll see it, but with Bay directing it could suck. And I'm of the F13 movies, same plot and all never gets old too me!

Jason>Freddy anyday!

The new trailer actually looks decent. I've missed that wacky Jason Voorhees and his hockey mask. Don't slam it because of that fuck, Michael Bay. He's only the producer. Anyway, there's no way it could be worse than the pieces of shit that were Friday the 13th 5, 7, 8, 9 and 10. Oh, I'm sorry. I mean X.

Does anyone bother to read the fine print? Sam Rami produced Boogeyman, but he didn't direct the movie. Producers only fund movies. They don't direct them.

Bay is a hack. F13 remake let alone any remake he proposes will be completely unnecessary and to soothe his money-grubbing soul. he's a cinematic rapist.

the guy just doesn't have genuine intentions, man.

Not that the originals (1-9) were "great" movies by any means, but they were fun... and for some reason I have absolutely no faith in Bay handling the remake.

Rob Zombie didn't do a great job at remaking Halloween, it was a fun white-trash interpretation of it, but it just didn't have that same feel.

Thoughts?

I think it's kinda crappy to remake it and just kinda cram in the whole mother aspect covered in the original first movie.

Being a huge fan of the Halloween movies, and other slasher flicks at the time, I actually like the Halloween remake. it wasn't a remake though. think about it.

I saw it last night. It was pretty much what I expected. Jason's more like a backwoods retard Rambo in this one. He traps people, is handy with a crossbow and uses people as bait. There were some decent kills, but this movie didn't add anything new to the franchise.

Everyone in the theater applauded after the first few kills and the title popped up. It was nostalgia. Jason is a decent villain and he has been missed. Hardly anyone even counts the past few Friday films, so it was like seeing an old friend for the first time in ages. I dunno though. He was a mean motherfucker in this one. Especially the death involving

the girl tied upside down in a sleeping bag, hanging over a roaring fire.

The only likeable character was Aaron Yoo. He had the funniest lines. Everyone else was blood waiting to be shed. They had one douchebag who seemed like he walked right out of an 80s preppy movie, even though this one is set in present day. Lot of marijuana in this movie, too. Growing it, stealing it, smoking it. And of course, everyone who touches the deadly plant gets the hockey treatment. It was kind of a strange hybrid of Reefer Madness and Friday the 13th, in that sense.

All in all, if you like these movies, go see it. It's mindless fun for the most part and you get to catch up with Jason again. Although it was like seeing Jason's less retarded, more pissed brother. The ending did piss me the hell off.

NSFW:
The entire movie plays Jason as being human, just deformed. Like the first few Friday films, before Jason became a teleporting super-zombie, with kung-fu grip. They kill the guy at the end. Clearly he is dead. I mean, the top of his head was in a wood chipper. For some reason, instead of letting the wood chipper finish the job, the surviving duo decide to lug this heavy ass killer to the lake and dump him in. Then they throw his mask in. And finally, a charm necklace. One minute later, Jason jumps out of the water, with his mask on and ready to fuck them up. If that doesn't turn out to be a dream sequence like the first one, then they had better not even bother to make another.

i thought it was shit. i could relate to the characters love for weed, tho i would never rip off someones crop, those that do deserve to die. anyway it was just boring, same ol fucking cookie cutter shit, horny youth, weed, tittys, token black guy. the asian dude was cool. just thought to myself "shoulda saw coraline in 3-d"
