the official 08-09 NFL thread

^ . . . riiiiiiight. :\

Anyways, Matt Ryan is definitely going to get some MVP votes and will hands down win ROY.

As for me, let me go back to silently crying to myself as I think of all the 15 losses the Lions have suffered thus far.

The vikings are going to get there ass's handed to them on Sunday from the new york giants.

The bears are going to lay the smack down upon Houston then clinch the playoffs and win the division.

I could see the Vikings win if they can slow down that monstruous G-Men defense with Adrian Peterson. and it's not like the Giants NEED to win, they have already locked the division.

Houston is looking pretty solid lately, much more solid than the Bears. but will playing for a spot in the playoffs revive their offense?

The Giants' Steve Smith or the Panthers'?

The Panthers'. I am a Falcons fan by birth and a Carolina fan by residence.

Matt Ryan is already better than Mike Vick. His passer rating is better than Vick's for any season of his 6 years with the Falcons. Plus, Ryan is 5 years younger. That, my friends, is a QB you can build a team with. Also, fuck Bobby Petrino. He left the Falcons for fucking Arkansas, what a douche! Mike Smith has done a damn fine job with the Dirty Birds.

The bears are going to lay the smack down upon Houston then clinch the playoffs and win the division.

Good luck with that Kyle Orton fellow. No passes for 30+ yards is pretty sad.

Once I ground my teeth down to nubs listening to him, I muted it for long enough to see that everybody in the audience had brought their own little doll/dummies like his. This is more worrisome to me than falun gong is to the Chinese communist party.

In other news. The Saints are only a 3 point dog @home against the panthers, and yall know the NFC South's home record. I smell a bye week for my dirty birds.

You have to take into effect the running dimension. That doesn't mean anything.

The running dimension may not be factored into passer rating, but neither is the ability to read defenses, call audibles, or make clutch plays when the game is on the line. Matt Ryan is better than Vick in those areas, and this is only his first year. Vick's tendency to run got him hurt, too. I'll take a pocket passer who can scramble very very well over a QB who tucks and runs way too often. The latter QB is too damn risky to build a team around. Plus, Vick chose dogfighting over his team mates and all of the Falcons faithful. He left the team in shambles...matter of fact Vick was a horrible QB.

big ups to Rookie of the Year obvious Matt Ryan. I will admit to eating crow, although only once in awhile, because I thought that he was going to be the next installment of Tim Couch.

should have known better. I saw him play in some Boston College games and he was the only reason why they could have even be considered in the Top 10 last year.

he's a really nice guy too. used to be a fan of my old Boston 80s Metal type band. there is a reason they call him "Matty Ice"

LL has a bigger hard on for Phillip Rivers and Peyton Manning than Jay Cutler and Eli Manning, respectively.

they are both great QBs, however, defense wins championships in the NFL. this isn't the NCAA.
