yeah, the ravens are ones to look out for this year...joe flacco is their big ben clone. they play today (12/14) and the ravens are only one game under the steelers so this is a do or die game for them. should be interesting.

Peyton's passer rating is 90.3 after today's game, while Eli goes into todays game with rating of 90.1. You have to keep in mind that Peyton missed all of training camp and the preseason, which probably played a big role in his early season struggles. Save for the game against Cleveland, Peyton has been like what people except him to be in the past seven game - great. In those seven games, the Colts are 7-0. So, yeah, a slow start of the season for Peyton and the Colts, but both have been strong in the second half.
 
The Colts are now 2 wins away from their SIXTH consecutive 12 win season.

Just saying.

Anyone want to wager on who will go further in the play-offs, the Ravens or the Colts, kindly PM me.

respect to the Ravens, I have always hated them most bitterly, but they match up so well against the Steelers. both play passionately and both play with unmatched defensive ferocity.

I think that the Ravens will go further than the Colts this year in the playoffs. NOBODY wants to see the Ravens in the first round wild-card. damn lucky that they don't have home field advantage, because their defense is just scary good at home. I think that Indy will lose in the first round, despite the NFL paying the refs to try their best to set up an Indianapolis-New York Manning Bowl Super Bowl.

(1) Congrats on the Steelers - I concede that before the season, I thought they'd be a nothing-special 10-6 type team who would steal their weak division, and then lose in Round One.

I stand corrected now.

They're legitimately solid.

I still think they're SOMEWHAT overrated by some, but that said, they're better than I thought they'd be.

(2) Regarding your "Ravens will go further than the Colts" . . . you might want to wait until the Ravens qualify for the play-offs before spouting off such nonsense like that. :)

thanks for the props on the Steelers. I love them more than life itself, and I am just happy to see them playing solid defense - something that I salivate over on the pro football level. pro defenders are SO fast. how does a QB even get time to think about the coverage and go through his checks before he gets blindsided?! makes you think guys like Peyton Manning are that much better...

I suppose the Ravens haven't made the playoffs yet, officially, but I think that they are pretty much locked in. honestly, the Wild Card on both sides of the conferences looks like a sure bet, save for maybe the 6th seed Wild Card in the NFC.

you and me both can't wait for the playoffs. should be some great great football. everyone is scary this year in that they are largely unpredictable. both the Colts and the Ravens could make a run for it and steal a couple games away from a higher seed.

who knows how long the Giants and Titans will last. it seems like they are both on the brink of late-season meltdowns. what a travesty.
 
I can't wait either. what makes you think Dallas can win its first playoff game since 1995? I want Dallas to be good, but they are just a perpetually soft football club. they need to focus on winning the first playoff game, or even making the playoffs, than the Super Bowl.

They're very arguably the greatest franchise in the league's history.

Yes, Romo's made miscues in two key play-off losses, but Peyton was accused of being unclutch, and lo and behold, he's on his way to perhaps a third MVP, and a nice run at a second Super Bowl.

And when Romo has been healthy THIS SEASON, they're arguably the best team in the league.

corrected, perpetually soft since 1995. have they won a playoff game since then? my memory says no. playing very poorly in the cold months gets you the title of perpetually soft. I want Dallas to emerge as a great NFC team, because it will make that conference so much more fun to watch, however I don't see hat's so great about Tony Romo. he can't seem to make the throws. Marion Barber, when he plays (lol) is very good - and the Big D in big Dallas is great. I hope they win a playoff game, but if they lose in the first round again this year... I will forever give up on them.

there is a good chance that they might not even make the playoffs.

props to NFL schedule makers for making two very marquee games this late in the season. Carolina VS New York and Pittsburgh VS Tennessee. both of these match-ups is for first place in their respective conferences. who's got who?
 
still says he is out due to his knee. I'm taking Carolina because I think they will be able to run the ball more effectively.

I'm taking Pittsburgh against Tennessee because I think that they are on a roll, and they are missing too much with Haynesworth and Vanden Bosch out on defense.
 
Giants to lose on a dropped TD pass by Domenik Hixon. I don't know why they don't use Mario Manningham more, he was a big name at Michigan.

Stillers to win ANOTHER tough game with their defense yet again. As long as they keep Big Ben on his feet they should keep winning.
