IN, Indy - 01.17.09 Saturday - DJ ICEY & more!

Ok... I know its just my opnion...

but how can anyone NOT care for ICEY? Seriously?

If you like break beats that make you dance till you drop and tug at heart strings, then ICEY is a must see anytime he comes within range. I, and those of us "old" folks that still know how to cut lose when possible will def be making the drive.

As much as I hope the promoters do well and a lot of people that enjoy show up, I REALLY hope its not overly packed. Otherwise, there will be a lot elbowing going on. (I have a large wing span and nothing will stop me from dancing and taking up the necessary space ;-) )
 
sry to burst your bubble, my old ft.wayne friend. Therapy will be elbow to elbow this night. I'm going to make 100% sure of this. Im counting on just as many out-of-staters out for this. I just plowed cincy with fliers. dayton will be hit up on the 27th. i will be at the New Years party in dayton. Im mailing fliers to chicago, and a small some to detroit for the heebe jeebes of it.

Hope to see some ft.wayne peeps down too :)

lol... well.. to answer yer question... Yeah, I like breakbeats... been in the scene a VERY long time. And believe me.. I get sick of hearing people call me "old school" when I get introduced to the newest slew of party kids around. But honestly... Icey dont really impress me anymore after YEARS of seeing him. I just remembered...last time I saw him was in Charlotte a couple years ago, and the 2nd room had the DNBLF going on... so I was in there taking shots with Beet ,Mason & Infiltrata lol. So... he's good..just not my cup of tea so to speak. Still a damn good dj though...
 
Mr. Turtle I hand it to you for your flyering skillz. Looks like Icey's taking a little midwest tour right about now. He's definitely got a lot of hype right about now. I won't be here for this, but I wish it well!
 
Well, I've never seen Therapy crowded, so this will be a first. Either way, I WILL get my groove on and I WILL get my space.

I just always kinda feel bad for the people that don't pay attention and make space b/c they catch the bows.

Just in case, I'll prob grab some presales, cuz I def prefer the shorter drive to Indy when its possible to see dj's that I can't miss.

It's been crowded a handful of times. Never packed though. This should do pretty good though. I'm going to guesstimate for shits and giggles 170.

I remember an Aphrodite show that was pretty packed... er, or am I not remembering well? That is definitely possible; I have done loads of drugs in my life.

I actually bet:

Wow 500 huh? I would be really surprised. Im pretty sure Ferry Corsten didnt break 500.

Unfortunately I missed the Aphrodite show. I was @ George's hipster dj rave in his barn taking massive amounts of x tablets lol. Good times. . . I was at Ferry Corsten and consider that show crowded but not packed. That's the most heads I've ever seen there. Not a Ferry fan lol but the wifey and I did have a good time that night. If I remember right some idiot w/ his collar popped tried to walk out on a bottle service tab. Anyways, I'm sticking w/ 170 BUT i hope more show up of course.

I think ferry corsten broke 400, but that was with slater's free thursday going on at the same time. I went there for the thursday, and i got into the main room no problem.

Essentially, we're looking at a low of 100 and a high of 450 at two standard deviations, set from a rolling average of 275 at Therapy.

However, we all know Therapy cant claim a rolling average attendance of much more than 75.

So, we have to work from an extraction.

In this case, we plot attendances of Therapy events similar in caliber.

In doing so... we likely get an average 175, and a rolling average not too far below.

I'm going to keep the low @ 100, call the rolling average 250, and Place the High at 400 (to be optimistic).

A 68% chance of hitting 250, a 95% Chance of hitting 100, and a 34% chance of hitting 400... Based solely on performance history of Therapy.

Then I'm going to add 15% to take into account Turtlematt's teleporter access as an outside factor.

With yet "weather" +/- 10% and "fuel" cost +/- 10%, there's a 20% variable margin there... so let me bump Turtle up to 20% rather than 15% <gasp> as I predict his skills can compensate for the nature of these margins.
