poetry zines

I'm a big fan of poetry zines, especially the online ones. Lately I've been poking around My Favorite Bullet, Zygote in My Coffee, 2 River, and some others. I seem to find edgier, less stuck-up poetry online and in smaller magazines than I find in books.

Who here reads/writes for small poetry zines?

Any favorites?

I don't think there's any fame game really. Nobody gets any recognition for good poetry. The only people who read the stuff are other poets...

It's a shame, I know.

Oh well, I'm going to keep on submitting. And so should you!

I read, amongst others, qarrtsiluni, Cordite, Blue Fifth Review, Otoliths, hutt and Poetry Sz. I've contributed stuff to the latter three.

Most of the stuff I read online has an experimental bent. I also read the likes of Jacket, but I doubt much of the material they publish would interest the folks in Words.

I'm sure I've poked around the ones you mention, with the help of Selby's List, but I'll have to revisit them on your recommendation.

Whoa, Selby's List is pretty comprehensive. I tend to use http://www.duotrope.com/index.aspx for sifting through all the sites out there.

Nice, I'll check out the work at those places. I'm coming out in Yellow Mama and Literary Chaos Magazine in the next few months.

This really hit me. It's so true and I just remembered it (from listening to Peeping Tom hehe). THe urge to be famous is just an excuse to fill up the void inside, typical human insecurity. like all bullshit it should be smelt, and then hastily cleaned up or avoided.

I could be famous. you could be famous. look at the celbrities that exist - they are human, and they fall obscenely in the public eye, we build them up and destroy them, as we do with ourselves. everyone is just human.

maybe there is some genius hiding in the woods scatching the knowledge of all worlds on the trees. then he will die and rot and disappear and so will the trees. but that knowledge was in your heart so it doesnt matter.
