New Mallinckrodt Generic Oxycontin (ER)

where they taken off why purdue sued them or something?

what are the generics on the market now? I've hadABG, teva (sucks), endo, and thats really it

I really thing purdue oxy's are the best... I love them

The TEva ones are way shitty and not even close to the real 80s

there are not current generics; all generics stopped production.

this is the first generic in a while and even now they are on limited production.

anyone prescribed oxycontin is forced to get name brand, until now.

M buddy who has an OC40 script still gets the ABGs and the OCs when he picks up his scripts. Im not sure if the pharms here have an overstock of the generics...I think that might be the case because everyone from Tampa who gets not so legit scripts comes up to my shitty town to cash them because the pharmacies arnt that big on calling the doctors or the cops. I remember one pharmacie a few blocks away was raided by the cops for selling painkiller scripts out the pharmacy.

Hate to bump an old thread but do these have potential to be railed or IV'd or do they suck like most Mallinckrodt products?

yeah, i got a few of these, and was somewhat dissapointed. they are similar to the tevas, with about half the amount of wax binder. they can be railed fairly easily, but will gel if IV is attempted. trues FTW.

so I have one of these mallinckrodt 80 mg oxy's. Its green with a boxed M on one side and 596 on the other. Havent done oxy is several years. Ive been taking tramadol every day, about 800-1000mg over the course of the entire day. In the past I always snorted oc's. I snorted one of those generic football looking 80's and remember the weird gell boogers I got, but it still got me quite high. Will I get same result if I snort some of this pill, or is it worthless to snort?

is it ok to take 2 5mg oxycodone caps with 1 15 mg morphine cr

It depends on your tolerance and allergies to opiates. If you have a low tolerance, it could be dangerous.

The danger, which exists for all opiate users, is due to respiratory depression (problems breathing). Typically, at rest, a human might take 12-17 breaths per minute, so when it falls below that, it becomes an issues because you are not oxygenating blood at a normal rate. If you do not oxygenate your blood, your cells loose the much needed oxygen. Remember, oxygen is the final electron acceptor in TCA cycle/Krebs cycle for metabolism of glucose to ultimately form ATP (energy for your cells to carry out functions). This is a major problem for your brain as your brain uses glucose as its primary energy source. If you take this away from your brain, neurons die and varying levels of brain damage ensue for the patient.

This example indeed is to signify that opiates are potentially very dangerous.

Now, Morphine by mouth at 15mg will get metabolized and exert a lower effect than other routes of administration that provided higher bioavailability (such as IV).

Some humans have allergies to Morphine as well and other opiates can be used.

Therefore, it really depends on your tolerance and the specifics of your genetics.

I have been getting Oxy 80's from same mom& pop store for years and have always received Purdue for probably near a year now.. Tonight, I get home and see they are differant, not sure of brand but green football with 93 on one and 33 on other. I'm freakin pissed. They really suck. I get 40's too and I tried taking 4 hrs alternetly, instead of both every 8 hours. And i swear the 40 purdue is almost as good as this shitty 80. I am going to call tomorrow and find out whats up, even though I'm screwed this month. But why?? If there is not new generics then these must have been there a while... So why me? They probably move 600-1200 80's aday outta this store. And I get 84 old footballs. damn. I usually take normal but sometimes bite into a few pieces and these stick to your teeth and suck. But I'm sure your all well aware of this kind.. We'll see what they say if this is more generics a comin' or not.

I asked my pharamacist yesterday if what he gave me were old stock or what and he advised me no that generic 80's are back. Did not ask about other strengths as the 40's I got were still Purdue's. I am so dissappointed as they are the Teva's (I think) football-93/33. They really suck. If I bite it in half it sticks to your teeth and even your gums.. I hope if if generics are here to stay that there will be other makers cause I swear the 40's work as well as these 93/33 80's. I take both and decided to take 1- 40 then 4 hours taking the 80 instead of taking both every 8 hours and I get better pain relief the 2 hours before the 80 then 2 hours before the next 40.. If someone else is getting any other NEW generic 80's please let me know what brand if you like them or feel they are more similar to Purdue.
Thank you...

Generic OC's

In December, my pharmacist told me that ALL generic OC's were going to be banned and they had issued a notice to pharmacies to destroy ALL generic OC's in stock, sign an affidavit stating the quantity destroyed (wish I would have gotten a part time job at the pharmacy right before this little "Tea Party" took place, I'm sure I could have "destroyed" plenty for them) and the pharmacy would get credit from PURDUE, that's right, PURDUE would replace them with their name brand ones. So he tells me (he is a WAY COOL older, slack ass, as long as his ass is covered he don't give a fuck, dude) that he destroyed them as instructed and then 2 weeks later was informed that Mallin was going to be allowed to produce a generic. Hope this gives some insight.

Has anyone started a class action suit against Purdue

I understand soon patients will not be able to find / purchase Oxycodone 40 mg extended release tabs. Purdue has blocked generic drug manufacturers from making and selling product. Generics are needed by many patients. Some State insurance programs will not pay for brands. No generic available for Oxycontin new safe tab.

I say there is a place on the market for the oxycodone extended time release tabs. Once again patients are getting
screwed by Purdue and the courts!

I think a class action law suit should be started to address this issue.

If we got organized we could show this is a horrible injustice! Purdue didn't invent oxycodone. It was invented in 1916 in Germany.

So is Mallin going to have oxycodone 40 mg ER available? in 2011 I hope so. I can't afford oxycontin. it should just be manufactured as Oxycodone er time release. Forget oxycontin! Purdue is a greedy co. Purdue says it is an indigent Co. They have no profit! Ya Sure! LOL!
I sure do need oxycodone I have a spinal injury cant be fixed!
