Today my class took a survey in psychology on what drugs the students have used.

Out of 24 Students in the class

18 tried weed
20 have tried alcohol
4 have tried coke
1 have tried LSD
12 have tried ecstasy
1 have tried heroin
4 haven't done anything

I live in a pretty well to do chicago suburb. It seems like ecstasy at our school is taking over. At the club scene I'm pretty sure everyone knows our town. For other BLers in Highschool, is ecstasy like this at your school? Also to others, what do you think about how popular this drug is becoming?

I fear the worst for those lil kids popin' em' like candyz. Yes ecstacy will overrun weed + alcohol combined in a few years if you ask me, and the more the more the years go, the shittier the pills will be, and the more fucked up the upcoming kids in the futur generation will be affected.

Interesting results. I guess it's different in the city.

At my high school (400 kids, rural area), everyone drank and most everyone smoked weed. Opiates and adderall were also fairly common but ecstasy and psychedelics were hard to find.

I never came across a single authentic ecstasy pill in high school, though I could get good weed and prescription drugs any day of the week.

Our town is pretty well known when it comes to clubbing. IDK I guess it just might be a area thing. Also we usually get good pills. Kids got their parents money and are buying like 20 at a time though.

Thats pretty much the sort of results I would have expected except that there is no mention of meth?

I have a pretty good idea of who is doing what at our school, and I have never heard of one person doing meth. I have heard of speed, adderall, but no meth.

Ecstasy and psychedelics have risen in popularity recently, i'd say psychs are more popular though.

My rough estimates at my high school:
90% have drank
85% have smoked weed
45% have done recreational prescription drugs
30% have done psychedelics
25% have done ecstasy

I live in one of the wealthiest school districts in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, half the cars in the student parking lot are BMW/Mercedes/Lexus/Volvo/etc

Mostly everyone just sticks to weed in my high school. Although I've heard that the whole rave/club scene, therefore, ecstasy is becoming "in".

I attended the 2nd biggest HS in North America(average ~4,800 students) and mdma was surprisignly unheard of. Although I didn't know everyone there(not even close by any means), I was associated with probably 90% of the drug users and most of them had never heard of mdma, although some had heard of "ectsacy" :\
It was certainly never sold there.

When I returned for my junior year I had taken mdma for the 1st time during the summer and I was sad I had no one to talk to about it :(

I was pretty straight in highschool. The only drug I ever did was alcohol.

As far as I knew the only drugs really floating around were weed, acid, and mushrooms.

I'm sure kids did other things like coke and probably E, I just never heard about it.

As far as opiates are concerned, if anyone was doing anything it was probably pharmaceuticals. Heroin is not popular around here at all, even pharmaceuticals just started catching on with the people that I know that do drugs regularly

Yeah, living in the country, it's almost a given that we are going to be like 10 years behind! LOL

See at our school everyone knows about e. Walking to school from where I park you often see kids doing lightshows. LED's and glowsticks were banned from school dances and are considered "drug paraphernalia". I even sometimes see kids rolling in school. Its crazy.

Oh lawd!

That never happened at my school.

If kids were on anything at school, it was weed.

^This actually happened at my school, but the year after I graduated (I graduated in '03).

I also only drank in high school, and not really ever in excess either.
It definitely seems that in the past five to ten years, younger and younger people are trying ecstasy. Our whole drug education curriculum is completely ass backwards and fucked, and we're simply going to see more and more kids taking drugs irresponsibly because of it. Sigh.

Its made a comeback

a lot of the kids at my school still look at it as a "hardcore drug"
but its definitely coming back into the scene of highschool drug use

I was using it before highschool and it wasn't big, and really wasn't big at my highschool for a while and then it got introduced, and who doesn't love the "love drug"?

At my school its not uncommon to see someone who's rolling or knows someone who is or has E on them.

its not gunna be leaving without a fight.

I think it is because how our government lies about safer drugs like pot, and when kids try it and nothing bad happens, they assume everything else is a lie. There is a lot of lies about e itself but there are some truths and those truths can ruin your life. The government should teach kids to respect drugs, not fear them, and stop using lies and scare tactics.

My school is a small suburban school 600~ kids.
Each grade has a group of stoner kids who smoke 4-12 times daily (me being one of them)
everyone tends to drink at parties or when they are bored and the stoner group of each grade usually begins in 8th-10th grade. Only the kids in the stoner groups have access to harder drugs because they have connects.

the kids who drink only occasionally smoke and sometimes get harder drugs through the stoner kids.
the stoner kids do harder drugs occasionally when they feel like having some more fun, but make sure its in moderation.

I'd say this is the order of drugs used the most
1)weed
2)alcohol
3)speed
4)Opiates (not common, but easily obtained from neighboring towns)
5)E (not common, but easily obtained from neighboring towns)
and thats it, no other drugs are really used

benzos are only used by me and my friends and same with opiates really but E is rare and only "abused" by the stupid drinking kids.

Weed, Mushrooms, and Alcohol were the only things that people did in my high school. This was in Nebraksa btw. LOL I heard of a few people doing ecstasy, and I thought to myself... "Isn't that the drug where you have a good chance of dying the first time you try it?"

LOL FUCK THE MEDIA, and their horrible mis-representations about drugs.

LoL agreed. I can't tell you how many times my friends have told me it "burns holes in your brain," and all I can ask is why I have better grades then them. ;)

^^Yeah, my human anatomy teacher snr. year decided to devote like 5 class periods to "ECSTACY: THE DEATH DRUG" lol...

But answering the question, my h.s. there was NO x...no heroin, no meth...etc...
Prescription pills and weed.
