Female Gamers

My wife is a gamer. Grew up on NES for the most part...but I branched her out quite a bit. Now though...

We both absolutely love our DS. We have some games we play 1v1 on and when we play Advanced Wars against each other...it's a damn good game. She's smart and crafty and I taught her everything she knows :D

You all should have looked at and enjoyed the GameCube. It had some stellar games on it...and Super Smash Bros Melee is fantastic. My friends and I can go back to that game even after 1000 hours of play and still love the competition that comes from that game. My wife played with us and learned and now I love it when we find new people to play and she plays them first only to kick their ass. That's when I know that I will completely thrash them because she is damn good...but I am just that much better than her.

Now though...we have the Wii. We stood in line 13 1/2 hours to get ours on Day one last year...best fucking thing we did. We play the hell out of the Wii together and between the Wii and DS, we haven't had a need for any other game system out there right now. We love RPG's though...played through all the FF games on the PS2. Skies of Arcadia, Arc the Lad and plenty of other RPG's. We've played, enjoyed and beat together.

Getting my wife turned on to games was the best thing that could have ever happened in our marriage.

^^^ =D You just made me swoon. <3

Gamecube never caught my eye as a system that I needed to play.

My PS is a must have for me. My gaming started when I was little with my 4 brothers. (no sisters) Started with an Atari with games like Frogger and Fast Food, went to the Nintendo, SNES, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, then my beloved Playstation, where, like you, I couldn't get enough of Final Fantasy, Tekken, and even now, I couldn't give up my ps2, and the ps3 hasn't had any title that make me want to buy it.

<3 Gaming <3 mmmmm........

Guitar Hero!

Miss you CeeCee
less-than-three

Guitar Hero rules all. Lap Dawg and I playing Miserlou while rolling was the best time ever. I'm patiently waiting for my copy of Rock Band.

Less than three Kyk, miss you!

LawofKato, I am enjoying my DS so much right now, somewhat new to it, but so far been a very good experience. And I've played Super Smash Bros. on a friends GC, but the one for the Wii, looks like too much fun. and ohhhh speaking of great RPG's, Jean D'arc is fantastic on the PSP. The battle system is almost identical to FF tactics.

Kytnism, I actually had a Gameboy advance when it came out because instead of the regular gameboy I went for the Sega Gamegear which quickly fizzled out.

I'm really happy to see the femmes coming out that we have here. <3

I haven't really been in the "scene" for sometime but I do want Wii and DS, but a car at the time seemed more necessary. heh

Nerds never stray too far. ;)

I had a NES, SNES, gameboy, nintendo64 then kind of stopped being interested in most games. To tell you the truth I started to lose interest when they stopped being platform games; I have difficulty making spatial maps in my head. Men are generally much better at creating spatial maps, maybe this has something to do with the gender disparity in gaming.

I moved to get educated on videogame design while I was dating my ex.

I always asked her what she thought- about everything..

Anyways, the last day we were "together", I was telling her about a game I just got- an old game at the time, Max Payne 2... she said, in a bitchy way... "I don't want to talk about videogames"..

and.. that's what I was going to school for...

so somehow we broke up on the phone within 20 minutes of that...

The same flame-girl dressed up as the Scout for a TF2 Halloween with her friends, and new BF (I think)...

hmm.. scary.

Come to think of it, my next girl should enjoy videogames.. .or at least rub my ego well about them (because I kick ass at any game I'll devote 10 minutes to, ha...)

i miss playing multiplayer coop with my fiancee before she passed away in march.... i remember trying to beat halo and halo 2 and i would be telling her to run the other way away from the flood or one of the other bad add enemies that would deifnitely kill her so i could regenerate and come back to save her.

she loved the ratchet and clank games and there were alot of games like that and metroid zelda where one of us would play while the other one did the searching for where to go or what item they needed on the laptop getting a game guide uplled up

^
my condolences, sir.

the sexiest girl i know plays videogames and watches cartoons. she is a nerd hidden in the body of a HOT 5'2" asian chick. god how i want her. she used to always come over after nights out at the bar and try to beat me in mario baseball when i was blind drunk.

I wish my girl would actually play games with me, rather than being angry and spiteful when I wanna get my gaming fix. She will play Wii sports and mario, but that's about it. She likes puzzle games, which really aren't all that amusing to me :\ But yeah, I wish more girls would get into gaming, it really isn't something that you have to be a male to enjoy.

Absolutely! Games are not just for guys!

Dirtmcgirt, that's awful. I'm so sorry to hear something like that. That's what my bf and I do now, we'll take turns playing while the other one looks at the guide, or helps out in directions, whatever the case.

Jerry Blunted, no kidding about the sexiest girl I know is a nerd and a half but in a body that's out of this world.

I'm a female gamer in fact I worked at Attari in the marketing and product development for a few years.

I only play the girly/kid games though like Spiro, futurama, Rit and Run, Family Guy, Crash Bandicoot and Whiplash (usually games with cute little fluffy characters or from a t.v show I like) my boyfriend is like a shootem up gamer but he recently has learned to love Ratchet and Clank and is coming over to my side.

It's too bad there really isn't too many good 2 player games out there. We usually try to buy 2 player games but have never out any that we both like.

My girlfriend can kick my ass at most fighting games. That's true love.

I'm imagining most of you guys' fights wrapping up something like this:

'Fine! You beat me at Street Fighter -- the original NOT turbo! -- and WITHOUT USING E. HONDA -- and we'll have it your way!' :!

'Oh you're on!' :X

i love playing video games with my partner- he's my first boyfriend that hasn't gotten all stroppy about my love of games.
it all started with alex the kid on the master system...i lurved that game(now can't even get past level one!!!LOL)- now i'm a wow playing fiend. i take weeks of of work when new ff games come out=D
i really wanna go work for a games company in the future, that would seriously be my ideal job=D<3

I'm bored and would like to see more estrogen in here, so bump!

My husband says I'm too picky about games, but he doesn't really complain because I *will* try anything. I'm not a fan of Halo. I try playing it over and over again but I just can't get into it. I know this makes him sad.:( I'm also not a huge fan of sports games, as I'm not a fan of sports really.

My personal favorites are: All of the Ratchet and Clank games, Katamari series, and Go Go Hypergrind.

And fuck this Wii fitness crap. PS2 had Yourself Fitness a looooong time ago. I still use it.:p

I can't say that I have a favorite system, but xbox controllers are HORRIBLE. I have small hands and they're very uncomfortable.

Hi what's up? :)

I just got a wee keyboard that attaches to my xbox controller. Makes it a little easier to communicate with people. I have a headset too but I'm too shy to use it.
