Bupe Is it REALLY that bad to mix suboxone and benzos?

For whatever reason, my Sub doctor is completely and utterly against using ANY psychoactive drug in treatment along with bupe. I have really bad insomnia and anxiety both, and the only thing he has done is tell me to get some melatonin (which actually does help with the sleep) and valerian root for anxiety 8)...

I'm going to see a psychiatrist and be honest with the psych doctor about the situation in hopes of getting some actual help for the anxiety and even sometimes panic attacks I get, since coming off of H and on to bupe a month and a half ago.

Long story short, some Sub doctors can be pretty ignorant. I'm on a very moderate daily dose of bupe (at 8 MG a day currently and no plans on going up) and he's still convinced that if I were to get 1 or 2 MG a day worth of Xanax prescribed I have this horrid risk of respiratory depression.
 
Well, he's worried for many reasons. He doesn't want you to get a suit VS him incase you do have respiratory depression.
 
As long as you're not taking recreational doses (for whatever tolerance you have) you should be fine.

I took 50-100mg of phenobarb w/ 8mg of suboxone without any problems and one really nice high.

Many physicians are just not that bright, its not their fault, they lowered the bar to get into medical school...

That's bull shit becuase i'm on 16mg of bupe a day and I just started getting klonopin to go with the bupe becuase the bupe alone wasn't cutting it


It is actually suggest that to treat pain while on bupe use a benzo. So yeah there safe and they make your bupe work alot better. I tested this on my own with xanax bars before this now i'm glad I have my own prescription.

Btw my sub dr. is the coolest guy ever. He's down to earth and not one of those dick dr.s who doesn't help you.

There is no way my Sub doc is any younger than... 70. No joke. I think there are just a lot of doctors that bought into the hype that the morons you spoke of decided to spread. I'd really like to see a single report of somebody on bupe maintenance overdosing or having respiratory issues while taking their prescribed amount of bupe and benzos, heh. I'd wager that I'd be hard pressed to find any records of said incident.

To top it off, today I woke up with the most painful case of strep throat I've ever had in my life. White blisters on the back of my throat and all. Fuck today.
 
Anxiety is terrible

Why do we become addicts? For me, my anxiety was always so bad that the only thing that worked was opiates. I didn't know my dr could prescribe me psych meds like effexor xr and seroquel. I was just prescribed 2 mg of klonopin per day and ate opiates all the time.

Coming off of both at the same time was the WORST. Talk about an anxiety problem? It was way worse....until my dr prescribed suboxone, effexor xr and seroquel....along with 1 mg of klonopin....it all works out pretty well.....no addiction, but i need to know how to WEAN off of suboxone properly.....i was taking 16 mg per day....then down to 4 mg for the last 3 weeks.....i have 7-8 mg pills left, so 56 mgs....how should i space it out for weaning? I don't want to have ANY withdrawals!:!:!
 
I take ~ 2mg of intranasal subutex daily + either valium and since today rivotril aka klonopin.

This is first time I started with kpin and I take half a 2mg piill. That covers me pretty well with thouse 2mg of sub.

Also I recommend intranasal suboxone (not subutex mind you, i don't have experience with subutex, because both drugs are still unapproved here)

To sum it up. I beleive that you are safe. My advice is to start small. Take mg by mg of sub, then top it of with minimal dose of kpin, wait an 45mins or hour, then add some more of both. Redose until you are covered.

Remeber always start small.

P.S.

Subutex is helluva expensive here, it costs me 50 eur for 8mg pill, so I decided to go nasal route to save some. I did try sublingual route but it didn't do anything for me. It sorted me a bit physically, but cravings were there. Whilst taking it nasally completely kills my cravings as long as I take ~ 2mg per day.

Just remember old (clichee) rule: You can always take more blah blah blah.. So start small and be safe.
 
so whats a safe dose i been on sub for 15 months can i take 8 mg of sub and 3 mg of klonopin?
 
my sub doc prescribes me 8mg of sub a day and .5mg clonazepam a day. i take 2mg sub a day and 1mg to 1.5mg of clonazepam a day. u can def take benzos and sub safely together. hell ill take 4mg sub and 2mg clonazepam and drink like crazy and be straight. i dont recomend u do that though.

Theres a warning on the bak of the suboxone info thing that comes from walgreens, that says there are reports of "instant death" from mixing suboxone and benzos, and from shooting sub..

So I guess anything could happen, even tho my old sub doc perscribed me subs and klonopin, the klonopins was for temporary anxiety, just for a month..
 
Let me first say the EVERY ONE is different but I take 16mg of Sub first thing in the morning and then I usually take 2mg Alprazolam at about 1pm and another 2mg at 8pm every night and I haven't had any problems... That doesn't mean it's safe or won't cause a problem for you, No one on here can tell you how YOU will react to mixing sub with benzo's b/c for everyone it is different... Be safe
 
Um Id have to go with no unless you take extremley high doses. Personally I was on 16mg of suboxone per day and I was prescribed to 2mg klonopin every 6 hours (3x daily) and 2mg xanax every 4 hours (4x) daily, and this was prescribed by the same doctor.

When I would abuse my benzos I took as much as 32mg of xanax on night and was fine. I do have a tolerance though, but as long as you keep your doses reasonable like what you listed in your post you'll be fine.
