I can't handle mushrooms anymore, make me too paranoid but LSD/whatever passes for it these days is A OK.

anyone who thinks they can handle mushrooms is asking for a psychedelic beat down.

however, if you accept that you (as an ego with a judgment) cannot handle them and give way it tends to turn out a lot smoother.

regardless of their intensity though, they are my teachers :) (and i do agree that they can be uncomfortably overwhelming, i am just prepared to be smashed to pieces upon partaking)

I voted no preference cuz they're both amazing. But NOTHING puts me in my place like a handful of powerful mushrooms...(except maybe DPT)

I do like being able to actually see the inside of my brain as it works on LSD though...

I dislike yawning on shrooms.

Love 2 take acid in bed with a friend and pry into their head!

Shrooms are fun when you just wanna fool around for awhile.

The best way I can say from my personal experience.

LSD is an experience.

Mushrooms are just a trip.

Please dont go around and advocate that idea. People might get a really bad experience if they are more sensitive to mushrooms than you are or decide to take a higher dose than you do.

Having little experience (once LSD, twice shrooms of which one in combination with that LSD) I'd prefer LSD. It's more feel-good and "cosy". Shrooms have a more profound mental aspect and I have the feeling it's easier to go bad on shrooms than on lsd. Also because the visuals on LSD are much more friendly (bright colours, sparkles...) than on shrooms (organic, alien).
But it's quite possible that my opinion changes with other trips.

In general I prefer acid, when I can get my greedy little hands on decent stuff anyway. I seem to be far more susceptible to drug-induced nausea in general (I've puked from weed more than a few times, and not from coughing . . .), and shrooms always give me the worst feeling in my stomach which just makes the comeup all the worse. They give off a poisonous vibe, like I've eaten some poison mushrooms which contain psychedelics but also toxins that make the trip worse.

LSD just feels pure. It has its problems, but overall it suits my personality better. I also find the visuals it produces are both prettier and less distracting than mushroom visuals, but that doesn't seem to be the general consensus. I like how when I'm on it I feel like I can see through the "masks" of all my friends, how everybody builds up a fake shell of a personality to hide their true selves, and how when you remove all the genetic and environmental shells we're all exactly the same.

Mushrooms can probably give such revelations too for most people; I'm going to try them again this spring or summer (which is the only time you can get them where I live) and try making tea. It might help with the nausea, and maybe I can get some more out of this funky fungusy DMT-analogue everyone loves so much.

I voted LSD, on the notion that LSD is a lot stronger. That is, real, and high potency LSD.

If you ever get a chance to have a liquid dose of undiliuted LSD dropped right into your palm to lick up or on your tongue, then you will know that LSD does indeed give you more bang for your buck, as well as more visuals.

An eighth of dried cubensis mushrooms is 3.5grams. That's the dry weight. There's about 15-20mg of psilocybin in that.

my last LSD trip was my most intense, and it was with liquid LSD dropped onto my palm, five drops out of a dropper bottle....you know the kind...the stuff they have iodine in. Based on trip reports, wikipedia, and other media comparing it with my experience, duration, and visuals, I determined my dose to be around 500mcg....which would equal about 51g of psilocybin, an insane level of recreational dose for that drug, considering effects usually peak at about 30mg.

I know for a fact that I've done real LSD. Here's what I had:

I took the dose, five drops on my palm, and lapped it up with my tongue and let it soak in, which it did rather quickly. It was at an apartment about twenty miles from my home. Oops! Well, luckily I had a friend with me, let's call him D, D was the one who hooked me up and took me to the guy who dosed me.. So, we stayed at the apartment for a loooooong time (it seemed long, but me and D were only there for twenty minutes). We had smoked a bowl but for some reason the time had seemed like it was way more altered than being high on weed. I was wandering around, a little silly and confused, paranoid, and anxious. I felt rather weird altogether, lets call it that. So we left the apartment, and when walking back to my car, I started to feel reality change. I was thinking to myself, 'this is only going to get waaay more intense'. shit. '

And it did. I told my friend he'd better drive my car since he didn't dose.

And so, he started driving me back home. We went on a brige, and I looked out at the water. This was probably about thirty minutes after dosing. The water was boiling and was a purple color. The cars passing by us seemed all to be brand new and in perfect condition, going by in a slower motion than what I would normally see. My long distance perception was strange. Every 1000 feet or so there would be a 'layer' of background, like I was looking at a collection of gigantic paintings, pieced together to look like reality. So by now, we can determine that I was not in reality at this time onward. We got back to my home town, and we stopped by at D's friend's house. By then, it was probably about 45 minutes since dosing, and I was already seeing some really vivid colors and some flowing motion. Then we all played basketball, which accelerated the onset of my trip rather quickly. Halfway through bball, I stopped, and looked around. My car was glowing white,, brand new, looked like a racecar (it's a 2001 chevy malibu). look that up on google and tell me that looks nothing like a racecar hahaha! it looks like a grandma car normally...ahh funny.

The trees appeared to be dancing, waving around, looked like green fire. The basketball hoop was bending on it's pole in the middle like it had a knee, and going to this particular beat. The cement driveway was cracking all over and splitting apart, but then reforming into a perfect driveway, then repeating the process. D asked if I could give him a ride home. I told him I better not. I drove home by myself, a scary process. I was full on tripping out, and I still was far away from peaking.

I arrived home and it felt like I was experiencing my last day alive on earth. It was rather sad, depressing, and awakening at the same time, and making me feel like this was the best day of my life, filled with love. I heard the television in the living room on, the sounds coming from it were of an opera...although I'm sure I wasn't imagining that, though it was rather ironic that was part of my trip, it seemed like there was a symphony orchestra in my house playing my final songs. I was a little scared by this, but felt loved by both my parents. I made some food for myself, and it was poorly made, but it was delicious. I went to my room and everything was alive. All my walls were breathing and it looked like they were glowing and dimming slightly with each breath they took. Every object in my room was alive and in fluid motion. It was amazing. By then I was probably at the 4 hour mark, and peaking. Within about twenty minutes I started feeling really scared about how i thought this was my last day alive, and i experienced a bad trip. I cried a little and held my face in my hands, sitting on my bed...everything was intense...so many hallucinations that I couldn't handle, and I made so many connections with a possible death imminent for me, including how i had just gotten a new bed recently, and new towels and things in my bathroom, which was remodeled, and a bunch of other things that led me to believe I was given some final for-a-day royalty treatment before my demise, because these newest things in the house were accentuated and sorted out by LSD and myself. That was my bad trip, but as my peak ended, about the 7 or 8 hour mark, I started to have more relaxed feelings and like I was really going to make it and continue living. I felt like I had a near-death experience, in which I felt like I needed to make some changes in my life and become a better person. It has worked since then for me. The next morning I was still tripping just a little, at around 7am or so..I had gotten the dose at around 5:30pm or so the previous day...so it was a 12-14 hour trip, really long and intense, just like LSD is supposed to be.

And that's my insanely long story.

Great story! Just one little nit-picky thing: there's no such thing as undiluted LSD liquid. Pure LSD is a powder, so it has to be dissolved in a solvent (i.e. diluted) to be droppable at all. If a drop was composed of pure LSD, it'd probably weigh about 50mg, not to mention the fact that liquified LSD would degrade in a matter of hours (since LSD doesn't melt until like 100+ C).

And I wouldn't say 500mcg of acid is equivalent to 51mg of psilocybin. They have different dose-response curves, with psilocybin's being a lot steeper (i.e. I'd say there's a way greater difference between 2.5g and 5g of shrooms than between 100 and 200mcg of LSD).

Money is never a question for me with psychedelics.

WTF?
I'm not down with fools trying to hustle me, it's not a question of price per se but a question of these fucks trying to sell me something for more then its worth.

I love them both in their own rights and have had spiritual and recreational experiences with both at high and low doses. I will continue to use both as tools and think that they both have a lot to offer and reveal.

For the record, that is a question of price...

They're both good in different ways. Shrooms seem better in a social setting because of the mellowed-ness of the trip (eg sitting around with a few mates, stuffing around, etc), while I find LSD to be more fun in a "purely tripping" / "making a day of it" setting (like going out to a theme park etc, which is really fun by the way).

Being a very analytical person, the somehow paradoxically "logically natured" LSD trip just seems to suit me. I also find that acid exposes me to my emotions (which I have trouble understanding at the best of times; making this a positive effect), while on shrooms I tend to just generally be more aggressive - especially towards anyone being a buzzkill. The fact that acid can be carried around inconspicuously is a bonus - not to say anything bad about preparing shrooms; cooking them up is part of the experience (like hell I'm gonna eat them raw, I never liked the taste of any kind of mushroom to start with).

What I do admire about shrooms is the fact that I can still hold a conversation, even when tripping really hard (Granted, it may feel like someone else is doing the talking). On acid I'm always completely lost for words. Of course, the best advantage of shrooms is that you can just go and pick them if you know where to find them, you don't have to worry about dodgy dealers, high prices or anything like that.

Overall, they both have their merits, but LSD was my first love, and that will most likely continue to be so.

Totally horrifying (to me that is) suggestions like these never cease to amaze me.

I don't know about you, but I had fun when I did it. It was an adventure =D

I realise that things could have gone horribly wrong, but there's always a risk involved when tripping - why not try something fun?

"Horrifying"?! Don't U think it would be fun to go to Disney Land? I like to go to concerts, festivals, nude beaches and hiking on LSD or sex too. I HATE tripping at home unless I'm with someone I can sleep with ;)

EDIT: After a week at mom & dad's (in Chicago) I dropped a rainbow gel and drove all the way to Ogalalla, Nebraska without stopping except 4 gas and to pee.

Driving is where I draw the line... I really don't believe anyone can drive safely under the influence of anything. I can barely drive when taking pseudoephedrine cold+flu stuff!
