I would really like some feedback from people on this, I always love to discover new comics. I have no clue where this thread would go, but I would like it to stay here, because you are my people. :D

I'm not even going to post my favorites yet until I see if and where this thread gets redirected.

my favorite comedian whose material is clean (aka suitable for most ages) is Brian Regan.

He's had a special on Comedy Central before and I'm not sure the name of the album but his stuff is pretty consistently good.

Some of my favorites:

George Carlin - You are All Diseased
Mitch Hedberg - Mitch All Together, Strategic Grill Locations
Joe Rogan - I'm Gonna Be Dead Someday
Bill Hicks - Shock And Awe, Arizona Bay, I'm Sorry Folks, Lovelaughtertruth, Rant in E Minor
Chris Rock - Bigger and Blacker, Never Scared
Brian Posehn - Line In: Nerd Rage!
Dave Attell - Skanks for the Memories
Lewis Black - End of the Universe
Patton Oswalt - Feeling Kinda Patton

more to come..

everyone's been all about dane cook recently too. he is pretty funny.

i like dane cook too; i dont care what people say about him, that fucker paid his dues.

lewis black is funny as fuck so is dennis leary, also robin williams. i know im not very original, but usually i dont remember names very well, so yea.

I love George Carlin's disdain for mankind, he articulates it well.

f'en love Adam Sandler | What the Hell Happened to Me. BARRRY LAAAANKINS!!!!

i dont think its on WTHHTM, but i really love the "gotta' respeckt" skit, where its like 5 mobsters talking with a 5 year old boy about bein a gangsta, women, gambling, guns, things of that nature. each of the mobster's voices is split into its own audio channel and if u have a real good surround system, each voice will be on its own speaker. play it in a large room and it really sounds like theres about 5 people in different parts of the room. plus adam sandler's drunken sophmoric humor rules.

not "stand up" comedy, but if you hate heavy metal, Crotchduster's | Big Fat Box of Shit is a must have parody. many tracks are just audio sketch comedy. i effin love this.

David Cross - It's Not Funny
Pre-recent-times George Carlin (he's getting a wee bit dark for me)
Dave Attell - Skanks for the Memories
Mitch Hedberg - Mitch All Together
Doug Stanhope
Lewis Black - The White Album & Carnegie Hall Performance
Stephen Lynch - Superhero & The Craig Machine
Patton Oswalt

Yeah he is funny. Both he and Joe Rogan are very funny guys who weren't allowed to do anything funny on The Man Show. They are both WAAY to dirty for TV.

I really dislike Dane Cook. Sure, I'll laugh at some of his jokes but every time I see one I have to question whither or not they're actually his jokes.

Cook does steal some jokes (blatantly from CK Louis), and sometimes his monologues are just retarded. It is his physical comedy that often brings the laughs. Someone summed it up well when they said Cook is more of a clown than a comedien. A clown will do anything for a laugh. A comedien will tell his jokes, do his material; if you don't like him, then fuck you. That's my view at least. However, I do still enjoy Cook. I saw him live and had a good time.

As for TRUE HACKS, don't even get me started on Carlos Mencia aka "Menstealia" aka Ned Holness (his real name). Not only does this guy steal tons of jokes, he is half HONDURIAN, and HALF GERMAN and makes his living doing MEXICAN jokes ("beaner").

If any of you keep up with this kind of stuff you know that Joe Rogan completely blasted Mencia and outed him for being a joke thief while at the Comedy Store in LA. Rogan said out loud what every comedien has talking about behind closed doors for years - Mencia is a hack. Supposedly they have signals between comediens to let each other know when Mencia is around, and some even refuse to perform when he is around because they feel their material may be stolen. Mencia even got beat up by George Lopez for supposedly lifting a huge portion of his act as well. Rogan got banned from the Comedy Store, since right now Mencia is a big draw, and Mencia told the owner that he felt "physically threatened" by Rogan.

if you haven't seen it, enjoy watching Mencia look like a blubbering idiot as he is exposed by Rogan:

I think it is ironic that Menstealia keep calling Rogan "a little bitch"....if they ever got in a physical confrontation...let's just say it wouldn't be pretty.

Tale of the Tape:

Rogan: Has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do; Was the Massachusetts Full Contact Tae Kwon Do champion four consecutive times; At the age of 19, he won the US Open Tae Kwon Do Championship and, as the lightweight champ, went on beat both the middle and heavy weight title holders to take home the Grand Championship. Rogan also has a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Mencia aka Ned Holness: fat fake mexican

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Before seeing his stand-up act, I thought Rogan was a useless meathead (when he was the host of Fear Factor). Now, I see him as one of the funniest, most original guys in the game. He is strongly against joke stealing, which is admirable. He is also fond of psychedelics, and has spoken openly and intelligently about his use of mushrooms, weed, and DMT.

"The comics I hate are thieves. Nothing's more disgusting than a guy who steals another person's ideas and tries to claim them as his own. Stand-up comedy is supposed to be "Here's the world through my eyes." It's supposed to be your observations, your thoughts and views on life. When you snatch little pieces of other people's lives and try to palm them off as your own, that's more disgusting than anything. Robin Williams is a huge thief. Denis Leary is a huge thief. His whole stand-up career is based on Bill Hicks, a brilliant guy who died years ago." - Joe Rogan, who has gone on to attack other "thieves" such as Dane Cook and Carlos Mencia.

Andrew "Dice" Clay's The Day The Laughter Died is awesome.

It is a double CD set, and originally came with a sticker warning that "This Album Contains No Jokes." It's really funny because it's mainly improvised and he rejects requests for his old jokes (ie: nursery rhymes).

It's very much in the tradition of Lenny Bruce in the way he pushes the limits of what is filth and also reminds me a bit of classic Don Rickles the way he works off the crowd.

Smoke too much weed and listen to the whole thing with a friend or two and see if your belly doesn't hurt afterwards from laughing too much.
