the official 'pets and drugs' thread

here is how i see it.. as opposed to a human consuming drugs, the animal doesn't even know what drugs are. the animal is used to it's surrounding and the few things it does (sleep, eat, etc.) - whatever drug you give to an animal will begin to kick in at some point. this can be extremely confusing and cause heart attacks, seizures and permanent mental damage. furthermore, most people do not realize that a "big dog", for example, still has a very low body weight. recreational doses for humans can easily kill an animal, even if it's huge and appears to be 'tough' or whatever.

in the end you're turning it into a guinea pig. put yourself in that situation. would you like to be drugged up by someone you trust, not knowing that it's happening, just so the person you trusted in will laugh at you falling to the floor in confusion?

if you find entertainment in abusing animals you deserve to be punished.

actually i don't know why i even bothered replying, as this type of thread is either started by a troll or someone immature every once in a while. it sure gets old, and some people just won't ever learn.

Would you give a baby a few tokes, or give it half a pill to see it get "fucked up".

I'd imagine not. Same applies to your pets, they don't know whats going on, its utterly disorientating and can be terrifying.
Even when people know they are taking drugs it can cause them to freak out (thats any drug!) so imagine an unprepared animal!

*reports thread*

Yes, it is cruel. Animals cannot consent to using, nor can they understand why they feel the way they do after some piece of shit gives them drugs.

It's like raping the mind of an animal, like doseing someone without their knowledge and then laughing because they think they're going crazy.

It's unethical, cruel, and just plain sadistic. :p

yeah, last week, one of my brothers friend came over with a massive amount of coke, threw down some lines on a mirror, and then gave what was left for my dog to lick and sniff. The dog got so wired it just jumped our fence and took off running forever. Luckily my brother caught the dog before it ran out into the road. I was extremly pissed off seeing my dog in that state. I almost wigged out and beat the shit out of my brother and his punk ass friend. Bottom line, dont give animals drugs!!!!

I had a friend who used to get his cat stoned all the time. THe cat actually became addicted and would find and eat the pot when my friend wasn't around. This cat eventually freaked out, would try to start fights with its own shadows and beat up the neighbors cats. So based on that make a descion yourself. It is not up to you to decide if an animal likes drugs are not, nor does an animal think like a human.

cats (domestic and wild) will seek out and eat catnip..thats a drug to them, my cat loves it, so if you are going to give your cat drugs give him catnip, its thier own special kitty-drug.
to quote an article about catnip

"Given to the right cat, catnip can cause an amazing reaction! The cat will rub it, roll over it, kick at it, and generally go nuts for several minutes. Then the cat will lose interest and walk away. Two hours later, the cat may come back and have exactly the same response.
there are many scents that will trigger intense hunting behavior in dogs, and other scents will cause dogs to stop in their tracks and roll all over the scent.
Catnip is an interesting plant. It is non-harmful to your cat and seems produce a pleasurable response. It is fun for the cat and fun for the cat's owner to see. If you plant it in your yard, expect the cats to come running!"

I think it's cool to give a dog a very small hit of weed now and then if they're around, nothing extreme just a hit blown in the dogs general direction WITHOUT HOLDING THE DOG DOWN TO DO IT. So long as you don't give them very much they'll like it, go drink some water, eat some kibble, then go lay down.

The only thing I have ever done is get my dog stoned...I'd never get her fucked up on anything addictive, dangerous or any psychedelics. So basicly I'll let her get stoned if she wants...when I get out my bowl she comes and sits next to me so obviously she wants to get high ;)

FYI this is animal cruelty...blowing smoke in ur pets face and such. and its like poison to them. oh well

Well the first time my cat got high I was just smoking as normal and she climbed up and just sniffed the cherry. She then licked my lips and layed on my chest "chasing" the smoke. Now, most of the time when I smoke she'll join me. I've never forced her to do it and she seems to enjoy it and comes back for more. She doesn't smoke alot, but she deffinately likes to get high. I see nothing cruel about this.

Neither do I, jar4ever, it's not like you're forcing them to. If you held them down & blew smoke in its face, different story. But voluntarily going up & sniffing the doobage, then it's the animals choice. They're smart enough to not get near it if they don't like it & if they do enjoy it, they'll stick their fuzzy little noggin right into the cloud of 'righteousness'...pro-animal choice.

i think it is possible for animals to choose to use drugs, but if they like them, they still had to be forced one time, and i dont think that is cool.

I'll bet you hated some foods as a kid that your mom or dad had to make you eat. You never would've known that you liked that until you were told to try it, right? Same with your pet. You'd have to introduce them to smoke or they'd never have the opportunity to check it out. If after 1 time they had no interest, then that's that.

I have a cat that used to like to smoke pot. I would never force a pet to do any drug ever!!!!!! Id like to get that strait. But my Sal, hesthe shit!
Me and my friend used to smoke in my driveway in our cars all the time. Sal would always harrass us, by jumping on the roof and staring down at us.
Then he'd demand to come in the car and would walk around sit abd chill & watch us. So then finaly I asked him. Yes asked him, if he wanted to try it. Im not crazy this cat understands 100% of what you say to him. With a look that said ok to me i picked him up and blew my hit slowly into his face.
At first he thought it was cig. smoke (he hates that) and he pulled away for a sec. then he stopped and actully started to suck it in! I was laughing my ass off! we smoked until his eyes looked worse then any stoner Ive seen, lol. Then it was time to go in. I didnt want him to be outside high, but the little shit got away!
When he finaly decided to come inside. He fucked with me by meowing at the front door, Id go open it, No cat? Then hed go to the back door, same thing- no cat! He did this about 3 more times till I busted him an got him. I then took him to bed and he slept like a baby with me all nite!
I love this fuckng cat, poor thing just got bit on his ear by something! pretty bad too :( ..

Yes I am quoting myself, lol. I wrote this god 2 years ago. Anyways I wanted to repost it. I still stand by it. My cat wanted to smoke pot! I never forced him, I never would do anything like that. If your familar with my posts you know I am a huge animal lover. He really did like it. I can't say why? But he wanted to come in and liked the smoke!

In a situation like that its far different from some of the forceful ways some have wrote about here which piss me off.

OMG I only got to page 3, but I am having a laugh at the people who consider the people who get their pets high 'sick fucks'. Haha. What a good laugh.
