Do some consider there to be health benefits from occasional MDMA use?

I tried MDMA a couple times but based on a chart I saw here recently, in retrospect it may have in fact been meh-DMA?

It was very pleasant, but the next day hang over was like nothing I've ever experienced, made meth seem like a walk in the park.

There was also no afterglow, and definitely no insane introspection.

I could see the empathogenic component, but not particularly superior to that of meth.

As MDMA was synthesized by Merck pharmaceuticals for use in couples therapy, perhaps there are less well documented long term benefits.

But is that a myth, and in reality it's just an enjoyable mood trip from time to time, when indulged in with restraint?

I can genuinely see no therapeutic related benefit to narcotics like cocaine or meth, and in the case of the latter, the risk to benefit ratio is stupidly lopsided (though still significantly less toxic in overdose than the former).

However if one wished to use a mood booster occasionally with the least possible drawback, would MDMA be considered the lesser of all alternate evils, when considering the options?

what is meh-DMA? What dose did you do?

sounds like it wasnt worth the stress afterwards.

MDMA was used by psychiatrists n the 1970s and 1980s. One of them begins selling mdma to a Dallas night club. Theres a movie "Dallas Buyers club"
Its an okay movie, not that great, and has this in the movie. It based on real events. Some of the characters feel a bit trashy. In that Dallas club the sold mdma, people would sit at tables at Dallas buyers club and order, buy mdma. Obviously they were using it way too frequently and causing chemical imbalances. Eventually it was made illegal.

As far as the last question I dont know. I did it once this year, 110 mgs, still came down by two or three days after, and did ketamine to offset the comedown, which I never used to do of the many, many times I did mdma. Did 90 mcg lsd a few days later. Probably too much in a week, and I havent used anything recreational except cannabis, and by now I consider cannabis more medicine.

I more than likely wont do mdma again until end of 2026- 2027 minimum. May be much longer than that until I do it.

Can't see there being any health benefits of mdma other than it being indirectly therapeutic on occasion, and on very rare occasion directly so under optimal conditions

Definitely has plenty of potentially nasty physical and mental side effects though and yeah, your experience chimes with many many others regarding modern day mdma (oddly enough there were hardly ever any reports of mdma affecting people in the way OP describes until the early/mid 2000's when the production methods and precursors changes, but am not keen to get into anything regarding that, but if anyone fancies there is a long running thread / mental health rabbithole here which deals directly with it

And as for the 'safest' mood booster well....it would have to boost your mood in the first place eh, which doesn't sound like happened at all to OP, so it sounds like a moot point

So, it's exclusively a hedonistic substance?

Realistically, little to no therapeutic benefit?

I know some studies have been done using mdma to treat PTSD in clinical settings.

To those absolutely devastated with intractable depression as an example, perhaps it's a substance that could give them relatively momentary relief?

I had saw this interview with a survivor of horrific trauma, who mentioned MDMA was one of the few substances which gave him genuine albeit temporary remission.

Avoiding the addiction trap may be the subsequent consideration in those cases.
