Drugs in the Ukraine

Hi, Scattered, welcome to BL and EADD in particular :)

Just to be clear, if anybody does have such info, it would have to remain a general discussion. Talking about anywhere specific to score drugs is forbidden across all of BL.

Not sure we have anybody who could answer your question tbh, but I’d be interested to hear how maintaining a drugs scene in a war zone though - I’d imagine anything could be had for a price even in those circumstances 8o

Apparently it's all about dead drops overthere and carriers being paid 100 dollars to leave it under a stone or something as close as possible to the front. Everything on DN. Methadone, speed, pregabaline, tramadol seem to be very widespread

What is interesting is that war bring more drug use. I think the drug market dynamics in that part of the world is very interesting and quite advanced I wanna say

What must have been pure quality speed was given out to the British military as recently as the 1980s, my Uncle testified to that, after doing his time in the military, in the 80s and 90s, and making the rank of Sergeant Major. Tobacco was freely supplied by the 'help yourself and take as much as you want' barrel, and presumably high quality speed was issued to the soldiers under certain specific circumstances. From his way of relating these anecdotes, it was clear that he did not associate speed with recreation and good times. Totally the opposite in fact. Obviously this must have been due to the circumstances of using speed, and what they had to do, after taking it. I did not press him for any further details on that.

I'm not sure exactly when this stopped, because I was talking to someone else a few months ago, who did his time in the British army much more recently, and they were certainly never given speed.

I believe Modafinil is now the substance of choice, supplied when wakefulness of soldiers is required for long periods. I guess it's effective, before tolerance rapidly kicks in, but it is a lousy replacement for pure quality speed.

In Vietnam of course heroin use was a massive issue for many USA soldiers, due to the easy and widespread availability, and the respite from the stress and anxiety of the situation it must have provided.

You probably know about the well known studies that followed those heroin using soldiers, who survived to go back home, and about 95% of them just stopped their heroin use with barely any issues, due to the environmental cues changing so much, and the availability not being the same, and not being constantly surrounded by everyone else using it all the time. But there was a minority of about 5% who continued using heroin when they returned to the USA, following their time served in the hell zone. Tbh, I can't remember the exact % of people stopping and people continuing their heroin use once they returned home, but it wasn't too far from what I've stated, IIRC.

shit I didn't know it continued that long

spot on, the other big factor was being back home with loved ones and a support network. I'm paraphrasing what I've read, war is hell, they needed something while over there, but when the got home there was no need to continue.

Funny thing is both sides deal drugs to each other and the FSB on the Russian side delivers Herion to the injuried. The whole thing is a farce.

Herion for real, a typo assumable and spreading non-sense propaganda. Injured get Morphine when lucky when breathing is not impaired or Ketamine. For me a good guess, any drug used re-creative in a war that doesn't inflict to much on awareness but still numbs should go as it is. What this reply suggest.

To me it reads as BS, the war is for real though no winners only losers. The dealers taking advantage by providing whatever needed. Injured, yeah Heroine a.k.a.

I was under the impression that Russians use trimeperidine syrettes and that Ukrainian medics use nalbuphine for painkillers.

The FSB delievers legit hard-core opiates to them and probably other drugs. Both countries are ruled by mafia overlords is essentially how you put it. You have the extremist white supremacists on both sides that hate each others guts but for most parts its not much different than WW1 setting up. Just one big banker war and the peasants have no choice. Honestly picking a side is honestly just stupid.

out of interest do you live over there? or is this from reports you've read, I've not come across this angle before though it sadly sounds plausible

No from family and journalist friends that live out there though really not reported mainstream you got venture on telegram and follow generals and soldiers on the front lines. Everything is so censored though increansly by the days its becoming harder and harder to find anything out.

interesting, makes sense thanks

From watching vids about Ukrainian soldiers on the frontline, mephedrone is apparently the most widely-used illicit substance. Weird choice for the frontline imo 8o
drone is pretty big in RUS, so are dead drops, there's a YT vid on RUS drone use where IV drone addicts go hunting the common drop locations to steal scores, hmm might be a vice vid come to think of it.

I can think of worse things tbh, at least it's a stim, rather be on a stim in the trenches than nodding out!

Afaik in the war zone mostly stimulants from cathinone family and of course opioids and benzos to calm the mind, mostly for injured and mentally shaken. Not sure which kinds exactly.

As well as being a powerful and effective stimulant, real Mephedrone can definitely increase confidence / ego, which may be either a blessing or a curse, if on the front line, in life or death situations.

I wouldn't want to be a coward in that situation, but neither would I want my judgement impaired, and my confidence increased to foolhardy levels.

damn right, just enough so you don't piss yourself, but not enough so you're leading the charge over the top!
