Cocaine numbness after shooting up?

Much like your skin veins will heal generally within several days if your immune system is in good shape. So think about how long a significant cut in your skin typically takes to heal. That's roughly the same for your veins. But keep in mind that you are not donating plasma or getting a vaccine. You've been digging around in your veins for a month without experience (perhaps with the same needles?), and the human body isn't meant to handle that. So I would wait at least a week, but preferably even much longer, 2-4 weeks. And then, if you're going to continue this, take it much slower so you don't just end up in the same situation.

Try to visualize your veins and what they look like with all those holes and pricks in them, and what your body has to do to repair that constant, endless damage while your body is already under duress from the drugs. Make sure you're hydrated with good nutrition, and getting good sleep. Your veins and arteries are literally your lifeline. They are meant to carry blood and nutrients that brings life, not toxic substances that brings something else. One wrong move there is like clogging or cutting or eroding the fuel line to your car: your car will either chug along almost lifeless, or simply die.

Please remember what Johnny said elsewhere in that video. You saw what IV coke and meth did to him. You saw it with your own eyes. That is your future if you continue like this. It is important, mature and responsible to learn from other peoples' experiences. We tell you these things for a good reason. If we didn't care about your well being we would be watching Simpsons reruns right now rather than telling you these things here. Please give this a healthy rest before continuing if you must continue at all, for the very purpose you say you are here: harm reduction, and remaining alive. All the best to you!

i appreciate the detail in the answer of my question and the advice on how to fix it, it’s rare to get that on here. plug without judgement i appreciate because i know i’ve been being pretty dumb about it but it never feels good to be told i’m being dumb about it. i appreciate when there’s concern in an answer but not judgement. anyways thank you for your reply.

although i don’t understand what you mean by “what johnny said elsewhere in that video”? what video and who is johnny lol

I had sent you a DM last week that included a link to a video a friend of mine made for you. He IV'd coke (and some meth) for years. He wanted you to know what you're getting into before it's too late. I hope you read that DM. There's a lot I think you would benefit from hearing in there, all in good faith that you'll receive it in the spirit I wrote it - to HELP you, not to judge or condemn you!

so i shot up in my elbow, i got blood drawback so i swear i was in a vein. i shot up and felt virtually nothing. the injection site felt numb to the touch like the skin. now it doesn’t but my wrist does?? like the side of it near my thumb. no pain, not hot , i can still move everything but wtf? is this concerning or does someone have a reason to why this happens?
are you checking WHILE you're pushing the plunger? sometimes a flash or drawback at the beginning doesn't last if you push slow.

REMEMBER when I told you cocaine is particularly prone to missed shots because of the numbness and vein constriction -- that is what happened. And the missed shots are particularly prone to abcess as coke is dirty.

12 hours hot water and compression --- than pray it doesnt get infected.

Want me to link you to a how to make crack thread --- this is weighing on me, we prefer you to stay alive

Most of us were pretty dumb when we first started learning; dont take it personal! <3

Its always best to keep an eye on the area of a missed shot with cocaine can be something not as easy to notice due to the numbing effect but that could be a nerve i think due to the distance from the injection site and the numbness around the thumb, sometimes can feel a burn when you hit a nerve although the cocaine could of been the thing stopping it. its always best to seek medical attention if your unsure of any rediness or infection, swelling hot to the touch or if in doubt just go anyway. a visit to the hospital or a doctors clinic can be little effort compared to having your limb amputated even serious infection leading up to that if you dont have the understanding of any warning signs or how to treat it.

Oh and if infection present then dont inject the vein through the infection becuase that can take the infection to the heart. so id stear clear of there all together for a while and rotate other veins.

I have had some terrible experiences in the past where ive had to be on IV antibiotics for a week with a canular hanging out of my neck before going into surgery and having necrotic flesh cut from my arm and legs.

Im a big fan of Sterifilts these days to reduce risks of infection if any of what im injecting ends up outside the vein.

^ Read and learn. Definitely stop IV'ing till this is cleared up as you may have to go admit what happened --- I wouldnt id say a spider bit me or a bee stung me and it got infected and let them judge but I wouldnt confirm.

Than again you may not receive the proper treatment without complete honesty

i personally would tell them the truth. as smokey said, if they don't know for sure what they're treating, they may not give it a fair treatment.

Now this is time for a good harm reduction question --

DOES IT MATTER HOW AN ABCESS HAPPENED?

I mean whether it was a spider or a needle --- either way it is an infection and will be treated the same way? (that is very much a real question)

yes i think treatment could be slightly different, especially with antibiotic use. and if it's an abscess that's a symptom of something bigger, something systemic, it could definitely change the course of treatment. imo.
