So I seen the doctor for ketamine therapy here in San francisco, I'm waiting for my insurance to approve it but in the meantime I picked up some ketamine myself. Tiny clear shards (yes it's ketamine). I figured I would do my own program to get some benefits out of it for depression and anxiety so I microdosed it. I snorted a tiny tiny bump and yes I did feel a mood lift and completely different if it makes sense I thought it was beneficial like it was working, but the next day I had overwhelming depression and irritability and bad stomach cramps. I am on risperdal 3 mg and I was just wondering if that could be the reason why I had such a negative experience. I was really disappointed and I'm just hoping maybe because it was street ketamine I just had dirtier side effects.
It has been 2 days since I did the micro dose plan on doing another session myself tomorrow. I feel better but still feel some residual after effects that are kind of unpleasant.

Have you typed it in chatgtp, grok, or any ai program ?
Oh my fucking god, what kind of response is this, is this what the internet is coming to, someone comes to a forum asking questions expecting human responses and they get "have you tried asking GoRk?"

Do not use fucking Grok for anything, it's the Nazi-pedo-hate-machine of the AI world and I'm fucking sick of people blithely grouping it in with the rest of them like it's comparable. IT ISN'T. AI use for questions like this is it's own problem and I get this is the present day equivalent of "let me google that for you" in some ways, but Grok is something else and a unique and untrustworthy evil. No one should be using Grok.

OP, I wasn't even going to respond to this because I really don't know but now I have to because of that dumb as fuck question about whether you've asked a fucking AI.

Risperdal and ketamine do have some interactions so this could be something to do with it, but it's variable. "Street ketamine" obviously can be cut with things but without testing it it's impossible to tell what, and in any case ketamine itself can cause the side effects you mentioned. Not everyone benefits from ketamine as an antidepressant, for some people (including me) it's mostly pro-depressive in the aftermath, even if acutely enjoyable and of course antidepressive during the very short time that you're actually on it.

Real Depression relief from Ketamine is only found (imho) in doses around 150mg & above.
You need to "die" & be reborn to gain anything from it.

The higher the dose the more it causedbheart beat that had me wondering am I going to die ?

Unless the fxe was cut, and the ket was cut at these higher doses but they produced the same effects.

Both of these instances were on 125 mgs and imed. Sub q most done was 100-125 mgs and didn't seem to make heart pound like this.

Just my opinion but idea of microdosing* k seems very silly to me. I guess before I commit to that, do we know ketamines mechanism for reducing depression?

think the evidence for ket helping with depression starts more at the low therapeutic range than what we would trad think of as microdosing

I have to say for me personally having tried lower dosage I prefer less frequent higher dose rather than more frequent therapeutic doses, it seems to give me more of a brain reset that lasts for a while.

That is generally my understanding as well.

This website says this and is a synopsis of different studies of dosing regimens for depression treatment;
I myself tried a 300mg lozenge that was given to me.

35mg IV
70-300mg Oral
150-600mg Sublingual
56-84mg Intranasal

I'm actually not a huge believer in ketamine for depression therapy. Reason being some of the most depressed people I've ever met use ketamine constantly. And they don't ever get better because they use ketamine as way of coping, not to change whatever is causing the depression. Whether that may be a belief, a memory, or anything really.

Could it be used for short term treatment of suicidal ideation? Sure. Is it a viable long term solution to chronic depression? No. At least I don't think so personally.

I've been playing about with this a bit myself for the past few months, but when you look into the research on it there's not enough clarity on what's actually going on

R-ISO is meant to have better antidepressant properties but researches are unsure of the method of effect because it binds more weakly to NMDA compared to S-ISO suggesting there are other mechanisms going on

I have a bag each of R-ISO, S-ISO and Racemic, I've tried dosing at therapeutic levels with each and don't really perceive any difference to my mood, however I'm not in a bad place suffering with depression right now.

Where I do notice a difference is when I K-hole, it's like a brain reset for me and very therapeutic, Racemic seems to have the best brain reset for me, S-ISO makes it easier to hole but doesn't seem to be resetting my head as well as Racemic, I find it impossible to hole on R-ISO as I can't physically snort enough of it and won't IM - this is just a short experiment for me out of curiosity so people shouldn't read anything into it.

I could see that it could have potential as a therapy but more in the way that tripping on a psychedelic has therapeutic value i.e. do it occasionally for ego death - that's certainly how I'm going to be using it from now on, think I'm stopping the low doses going forward, all I get out of it is a pleasant social drunken high, this is very nice but think it tends to make me use it more and at higher overall amounts so it's increases the risk on my bladder - not sure the reward/risk ratio is right for that for me.

not sure I would bother with oral/sublignual routes given bio-availability, seems like a waste of drugs to me.

it would be very useful and helpful to hear from anyone who's have improvements in depression when taking this at therapeutic levels though - could be quite a game changer if it's shown to work well
