'Yeah, the sheep umbilical cord has 5-HT2A receptors, but unfortunately you can only get that tissue when the lambs are born in the spring. Then we tried the rat fundus strip, which Glennon was pushing, but we reported no correlation. I think it has 5-HT2B receptors, plus Glennon was abusing the method, using the minimum number of tissues, and recording false data. I spoke with one of his postdocs, and he told me that Glennon wouldn’t let anyone watch him running the assay. He was using a smoked kymograph with a long plastic pointer to scrape off the smoke. yeah I used to have interest in that one but the amphetamine derivative did not seem particularly interesting.
