A pretty bleak but also compelling track, with a very Cure like rhythm guitar sound on this track, by a Welsh band John Peel championed quite heavily.

This was one of their earlier tracks, but I really like it.

The lyrics do lose some of their power in translation, but here they are anyway for anyone interested enough

Standing on threshold of a door that does not open Beat one nightmare but there's always more The mental fighting, which disrupts the human seeds that are being scattered, wasted Looking out, there's nothing there Looking inside me, there's nothing here The mental fighting, which disrupts the human seeds that are being scattered, wasted Trying to analyze the meaning of my bored existence And what I'm trying to achieve Before going to the grave Before moving to none Before moving to none Before moving to nothing, before moving to nothing Growing old before realizing How short is the journey we are on? Life is the knife, and we are the lamb Who dances like patients between pleasure and pain Pleasure and pain Before moving to none Before moving to none Before moving to nothing, before moving to nothing Before moving to Before moving to Before moving to none Before moving to none Before moving to none Before moving to nothing, before moving to nothing Before moving to none Before moving to none Before moving to nothing, before moving to nothing

The lyrics are an important part of the track, and the music carries a lot more weight, when you know what he's singing about!

It's usual London prices on Crack & also The Reggae Soundsystems are no longer analogue with Tube Amps!!!!!!
You went to Notting Hill? Thought you were talking about a brummy carnival then, but make sense now. What soundsystems did you get into?

C'mon it's not that bad. Everything changes, even you! That Richard 4th (from the 10 seconds I could bear to listen to him) just sounds full of shit to me. I've been a few times and it's been fucking great each and every time. It is so damn big though that could easily get overwhelming - you gotta identify where you wanna be in the square mile or so and get there. Not too difficult really

I have it on good authority that King Tubby's OG soundsystem was there on Monday - also Saxon sound completely rocked I hear. What more do you want?

Also can hardly think of a worse combo than coke/crack and dub (and I've enjoyed plenty of both separately, but together?) Wouldn't work for me anyway, but of course ymmv)

The Bass doesn't carry correctly outside (imho) as way too much air is around in the open space, it has to be inside a small room.
I heard Dillinja on his Valve System ages ago at Broken Minds when he held The Guinness Book of World Records & when Bad Company - The Nine was dropped the roof began to fall apart. When he played Hard Noize the same thing happened & the floor & bar began to actually move.

"The Valve Sound System, designed and built by drum and bass producer Dillinja and his collaborator Lemon D, is widely cited in music lore and contemporary press as the world's first and only purpose-built sound system specifically engineered for drum and bass music, earning notable historical recognition including mentions tied to the Guinness Book of Records context for its ground-breaking bass and custom weight."
Design: Custom-built to output heavy, crystal-clear low-end frequencies (purported to reach down to 30Hz with immense physical vibration), transforming how ravers physically experienced low frequencies.

^^^ that's all true, but outdoor reggae/dub sessions can still be fucking awesome

edit - have been to at least 6 Valve soundsystem events over the years too, incredible for sure eh
