I'm new to cannabis, how do I smoke it?

Being a pothead in the 70's, quite a few pipes were made of brass. Everyone said to stay away from copper, but brass was common. Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc, but when you alloy a metal you essentially create a new material with different properties.

I worked as a machinist for over 30 years, other metal fabrication, etc., for the rest of my years. I worked with welders and did some welding myself. I never heard of stainless "burning your nostrils out". Regardless, taking a metal to the point of melting (at the point of welding) involves much greater heat and more outgassing. Stainless starts melting at 2,500F and combustion temp in a pipe is around 1000F.

Cannabis image that i bought

Hi, I’m new to this site and new to the world of cannabis.

I bought some cannabis and cut it into small pieces with scissors, then put it in my pipe and tried to light it, but the flame went out after just a few seconds. I tried lighting it several times, but whenever I did, it would go out again within seconds. What did I do wrong? Why did the flame only stay lit for a few seconds? How do I do it the right way?

I read on this site that you can eat cannabis to feel the effects and that the experience is different from smoking. But I’m worried it might taste bad.

Please be patient with me, and sorry for any trouble.
You don’t. You have to boof it the first time around as an initiation.

I don't think we're helping much  I dunno why it's so difficult to explain something so simple
Because you are in a thread that is clearly posted by someone who lacks the ability to use even basic fire.
Has Humanity really gone back so far as to the level of a Potato? It seems this is the case.
