Need Help Prednisone Blues

How do you deal with prednisone depression??

Basically I am on day 3 of a 5 day prednisone spirt and I am feeling depressed and guilty about everything as hell…

I try to remind myself it’s just the prednisone but still…

i react so horrible to prednisone.. i won’t even take it. But shoots me the other way.. can’t sleep, agitated almost like a mania without any psychosis.. i think i was put on way to high a dose.. it took hours to clear haven’t taken it since.

It makes me extremely depressed and guilty…as well as brings my psychosis back….it is hell and I wish opiates could be an option so I don’t have to go through this!!!

My uncle was put on predasone in the hospital and he got so depressed and violent that he took a swing at his dad. Shit fucks with your head for sure. Im not sure what would help it

Why ccant you take opiates though instead of this poison?

I’ve never been offered opiates for my back and I am scared to ask tbh…

I don’t have a history of abusing opiates or any such thing…I have abused my ADHD Meds but I am also able to stop if things get bad enough. No I don’t admit this to my doctors.

I cant tell you exactly how to ask for opiates but tell the doc the pills mess with your head and that you want something better that wont make you depressed and shit.

I dunno why they wouldnt give you opiates before predasone. Honestly predisone is not really for this type of shit imo. Some tylenol 3 or 4's's and maybe some toradol for inflamation would be alot safer imo

Quoted for truth. The steroids really, truly screw with your body like no other drug...even worse than antipsychotics IMHO.
