My wife has tennis elbow and she has already had a cortisone injection which hasn't worked
She had it in her other arm a few years back and had to go through the same tedius process with the NHS
Until they finally operated on it ,I guess their process is to do with costs/money ,injections are cheaper than
Operations
She has been prescribed Amitriptyline as a nerve pain killer
Is there any side affects She should be aware of because I've heard people use them as sleeping pills
Rather get someone's actual experience using them than reading the generic info inside pack
Thanks

It causes weight gain. My Neurologist prescribed it for me for my migraines but I never did take it because I didn’t want the side effects. Later I read it’s hard to get off of so I’m glad I didn’t.

I think tennis elbow effects the tendens but it surely would affect the nerves surrounding them
Could they not have prescribed pregablin or something similar?

Lyrica works alot better for nerve pain then amitriptyline. Ive been on both for trigeminal neuralgia. However neither really works as well as a opiate. For something like tennis elbow some codeine and ibuprofen would work great
