This is useful information in my opinion. It's a self reporting of how Agmatine and NAC prevented me from taking Kratom for 48 hours from yesterday, so fresh in my mind.
I took 600mg NAC and 1g Agmatine at 5:30AM Wednesday morning. After an hour the really tough train ride began because NAC and Agmatine will 100% prevent you from receiving dopamine from drugs. Kratom, caffeine, nicotine, gabapentin even THC - totally blunted, nothing, no enjoyment. Like you suddenly can't feel or enjoy the thing you enjoy most.
This is the important part of the trip experience. You can find on various threads why pharmacologically/chemically Agmatine and NAC are good for brains engaging in substance use.
NAC = Glutamate Modulation: NAC interacts with the cystine-glutamate antiporter system. By promoting the exchange of cystine for glutamate, it helps balance glutamate—the brain's primary excitatory neurotransmitter—preventing excitotoxicity and calming compulsive reward circuitry
Agmatine does a bunch of other things but I'm not chemically sure why it blocks reward circuits from pleasure when using drugs. Another note that has to do with how long this madness lasted, Agmatine has a blood half life and a CNS tissue half life. Tldr - The tissue half life is substantially longer.
I was not able to derive nicotine or caffeine mental rewards until right around 5:30 AM the following morning. And it was still substantially blunting the effects at the point, just noticeably less. It's now 3:48 PM Thursday and while I feel most substances back. THC, caffeine and nicotine are very mildly still muted.
Why does this detox work? Yes both NAC and Agmatine will make you feel calmer more stable mood etc during wds, but the big tool of this combo is that it forces you to abstain from the substances of your choice because THEY SIMPLY WILL NOT WORK, no high, no euphoria, no fun. So ya it's a forced detox. It worked for me. I'm hoping I can take Kratom around 7-8pm and have a clean experience.
Cheers
