Soccer World Cup

England match was painful to watch, not felt so on edge for a match where we won 2-1 before, bloody hell.

Got to sort out the defence, shambles at times

England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 vs Mexico 🇲🇽 in Mexico City - July 5
USA 🇺🇸 vs Belgium 🇧🇪 in Seattle - July 6

Atmosphere for both will be insane.
yeah looking forward to these

I'm loving the England coach Tuchel saying that kids should be allowed to stay up for the 1am kick off with school the next day

the atmosphere in our house in the morning with 2 tween kids will be 100% insane though :devilish:o_O

Thank god I'm not a teacher!

Anyone see the player from Bosnia straight up shove a USA player to the ground in front of the ref with no call before the first hydration break? All the commentator said was "yeah hes frustrated" 😂

England are fucked in the next game - not in any way used to playing at an altitude 7000ft above sea level where the air is thin...whereas Mexico are totally used to it and have played all of their games there so far in this tournament

Hard to see anything but a Mexico win

Special events like this you gotta do it. Do the kids love soccer as well?
That'll be a great memory for them getting to stay up. Especially if you win. 😉

Better to go in with lowered expectations. You never know what could happen. They'll have a few days to practice there before the game.

sadly as an englishman I suspect you're right, pretty tough gig to beat the host at home and at altitude when we're clearly not playing very well!

100% got to let them watch it, you don't get to watch many world cups in your lifetime!

They're interested in it but still a bit young to fully understand the pain. May as well start their desensitisation to the cycle of hope and despair early in life, it's a key part of Englishness they need to learn!

I'm gonna let the little fuckers watch it, current plan is to get them in bed early, wake them up for the match, then shove them off to school and let the teachers deal with the fallout.

I couldn't care less tbh. I'm not patriotic, dislike International footy as a rule and am only half English anyway

Have always disliked the nationalistic jingoism surrounding the "Ingerland" national team too. Fuck 'em. If they did manage to fluke their way to the final I'm sure France will be there to make sure the "sixty years of hurt" becomes a bigger number :ROFLMAO:

excited for today.

i think brazil vs. norway should be a banger. is norway winning an upset?

i also think england will have their hands full with mexico.

I was going to stay up to watch the match (1am here), but I'm considering just going to bed and hearing the result on the news in the morning.....
could just get up a bit earlier, avoid the score and watch on iplayer

no way I'm staying up - could easily last til 3.45am+ if goes to extra time and pens. Am not an England fan anyway, but even if I was...
