Trying to rack my brains for the last item of clothing or footwear I bought, and I think it must have been a few pairs of extra cushioned, extra luxurious, Merino Wool socks. Wow did they feel awesome the first day I wore them!
But then after wearing them a few times, they just became normal, and I could no longer feel the luxurious properties. Maybe you need to keep constantly renewing them quite often, to be able to keep feeling that premium comfort feel. That would kind of go against my budget though, and certainly against the grain of my frugal nature, but I think even a frugal person should allow themselves some treats, every now and then, especially if they do a lot of walking.
It was probably 24 - 30 months ago that I discovered these socks. It might be time for some renewals!
Me and clothing don't have a great relationship. It's partially that I'm not very interested, but more that I hate all the hassle of traipsing around trying to find items I like, and then if by any chance I actually do find anything I like, it's then the even more frustrating stage of trying to find anything I like that actually fits me properly as well. I'm not even especially unusually sized or shaped I don't think, it's just stores tend to have very patchy stock of most items, in my experience.
I finally thought I'd cracked things a few years ago, having discovered that GAP tended to stock trousers that I liked, and that fitted me well too, but then they went out of business, or withdrew from the UK market at least! So that put me back to square one, although I found a few things I liked, and that were available in sizes that fitted me, on my first visit to the big city centre Uniqlo store a few years ago.
Size? seem to offer a good range of trainers, but they are fucking pricey though.
I've generally had enough of the whole clothes shopping experience within an hour or so, and can't wait to start heading home. Apparently lots of people go clothes shopping for fun, on a regular basis, and are even addicted to it!? I can't wrap my head around that at all!
