Ethnobotanicals I thought CBD wasn't supposed to be psychoactive?

I'm not saying it definitely IS and I'm not just a bit twacked in the head (and I have been taking 2000mg/day of full-spectrum, for opioid withdrawal)...but last night I said "Oh, it's just like Memento" and my mum (who I guess hasn't seen it) didn't know what I meant so I was like "You know! That movie where you think they're on that ape planet, but then it turns out that Bruce Willis was Keyser Soze the whole time" and she told me to go to bed.

Again, maybe just a brain fart (opioid-wd exhaustion?) but I feel like the CBD had be a little messed up?

I've been using CBD vapes occassionally recently and I also experience some kind of buzz. It's not like using THC at all, but when I exhale I definitely get a short lived body high. It's that same feeling of bodily euphoria that you'd get from taking a toke on the pipe. Oral CBD isn't as noticeable but it does give me a slight buzz, comparable to chamomille tea maybe.

Now what I will say is that hitting the CBD vape after using oral THC definitely potentiates the high. Granted I've been using oral THC without any terpenes and a very low CBD content, so maybe the full-spectrum vape just fills in the holes, so to speak. But I would recommend it to anyone who wants that extra buzz while high, but doesn't want to go through their weed stash too quickly.

I noticed a real psychoactive sleep effect from CBN. It was different than thc sedation. But as usual, it only lasted a few weeks. Tolerance kills everything lol.

Yes, even a microdose of THC along with CBD will potentiate the effects of the CBD massively, the psychoactive effects and the health benefits. Or so I've heard.

You're absolutely correct. When I was using CBD/THC edibles, the effects would sneak up on me, and I'd end up thinking I was on Jupiter or something lol.

It's just a marketing thing I think. Of course CBD is psychoactive but imo CBG is even more overtly psychoactive. The combo in a 2:1 ratio (CBG:CBD), that's more fun...

Really? I disagree. As someone who has manufactured literal tons of each, I don't consider either "psychoactive" but if I had to choose I would say CBD is more* psychoactive.
If I take a fat dab (lets say 100mg) of CBD, I will instantly feel relaxation and if I have an alcohol hangover it lessens considerably. I don't feel high, but it clearly has a biological effect.

CBG does absolutely nothing to me that I can notice.

People like to think that because they're from weed.

If you read about their receptor affinities etc, or just use them without preconceptions and expectations, you will see that it's chiefly not psychoactive territory.

CBG is primarily an alpha2 adrenergic agonist which is in the realm of peripheral relaxant or antipsychotic stuff. It's also listed as a 5HT1A antagonist, which is the opposite of some psychedelic activity and an effect shared with some heart medications that are also beta blockers. It's basically a recreationally unremarkable pharmaceutical that happens to come from weed and be chemically related to THC. Additionally it may be an antagonist at CB1.

THC is the drug. The rest of the cannabinoids may be good stuff in certain ways but we don't have to pretend they're psychoactive.

CBD, does nothing. I get coupons in mail from all the competing pot shops. Some of these places, offer free weed to new customers and advertise on billboards.

CBD, shops here in my state have largly gone out of business or they sell CBD at gas stations, tobacco shops where they peddle various Kratom extracts and other grey area but still legal shit.

Momento, is one of those unique movies that, I thought I would love but somehow didn't, I forgot why.

Maybe CBD interacted in some way, with your other meds? Maybe the opiod wd/s played a part in it?

Pyschosematic, is that the other possible explanation.

How are you doing otherwise? Are there any other factors that might have caused something that seems rather useless. Yeah , I know all the hype about it.

Honestly, I think for some people mixing it in with just really strong cheap pot might help balance it out or something scientific, but who knows. What was the question?
