Had the joy of introducing another person to hallucinogens.
LSD didn't work on them. Gave them some tabs. And they took 300 mcg, despite my advice to stick to 150 for their first trip, felt nothing after an hour, so they dosed an additional 150! They were at 450 (on tabs I have experienced the same dose on a tripped really hard) and had "no visuals." Cognitively, they described the effects as being like "having drank a single beer and a cup of coffee." They were coherent enough at 4 hours in to go out in public and come to my apartment. They seemed basically sober. So, I gave them a smidge of DMT. It did absolutely nothing. I gave them MORE DMT it did NOTHING. They got bored and said their lungs hurt, so we stopped trying that. (I was literally smoking the leftover smoke in the machine, and getting obvious visual distortions.). They then wanted to try salvia. I obliged, giving them a tiny amount. Nothing. Gave them a moderate amount. Nothing, tried that four times. Eventually, figured, why not. Give them a dose that would cause me to break through. NOTHING!!!! WHAT?????????

I had read on this forum someone who had something similar going on. This person has a very unusual personality I suppose, I wouldn't describe them as neurotypical, but this was mind boggling.
They aren't on SSRI's nor any prescription medication.

Finally, gave them a nitrous balloon and that worked? It was really strong apparently, he finally had an experience. ketamine then worked too, so did ether. The either gave him a full blown out of body trip. So that drug class (classical dissociatives?) was effective. After a few hours of feeling the ketamine. He asked to k-hole and I reluctantly obliged after describing the risks. That also worked. Stared at me comatose for 10 minutes and then starting thought looping. Had a good time allegedly. Interesting guy.

Any similar experiences? Was I being irresponsible? I feel like I broke all of my rules, but he truly was functionally sober until the ketamine. This man's brain will need to be donated to science. He also is mildly a pathological liar, but like, how does one hide something like this.

He's "mildly a pathological liar?"?

Yeah you were a bit irresponsible imo - sounds like you treated them like a guinea pig

They had 450ug lsd, then dmt, then a huge dose of salvia, then nitrous, ketamine and then ether? And they felt nothing until the nitrous?

With all due respect, it's a tricky one to believe

yeah, i do feel a little regretful at my willingness to keep giving him more. He seemed sober and was able to answer math problems and questions about the present circumstances completely lucidly. Still, I don't the risk was worth it. I will be reflecting on my actions. But, I suppose the shock of these compounds doing absolutely nothing and his insistence that he feel something, or have some sort of experience compelled me to keep letting him try different substances. To be clear this was over like a five hour long period of time.

I mean, I'm willing to look past people's flaws. But, I have noticed him lying about certain things to appear more competent. Like saying he had never been to the gym, while looking like a power lifter. Or saying he had written this novel, that was clearly made by chatGPT. But how can one hide a salvia trip?

A friend in high school was a light-weight. Pretty average doses would send them into absolute delirium and psychosis.

Yeah imagine lying about getting high in order to get more...the very idea?

I can't imagine how anyone could be in any state to lie (or even to articulate anything!) in the state they "should" have been in had they consumed drugs of the type and in the quantity claimed!

Something about this story is automatically raising an eyebrow of mine

I've met two people who exhibited no response to enough LSD to knock me out, one of them also tested 2C-B and we couldn't even notice a blood pressure or heart rate difference, it was quite bizarre. Both people mentioned that MDMA had no effect in the past either outside of mild stimulation.

really?

no response to lsd??

Yeah, to what was ~10x a threshold dose for me too, in both people. Later we reran the second person with about 35x a threshold dose for me after they reported MDMA was non-functional and I also sent some of that batch out to friends to establish threshold doses and feel out to see if I was just losing my senses, but it was consistent for all others. The person who tried once to no effect was an old coworker who coadministered amitryptyline (had taken it daily for a very long time), and I've long suspected that was related although I've met others on amitryptyline who do feel LSD.

Psychopathic? Their brains are very different.

Also why do so many drug users waste their supply and try to ruin other people's lives?

I know a hard head, but he's a really big guy and just always takes 3-4x my personal dose, no matter what substance it seems. He always gets there though.
I've not heard of anyone entirely immune though. I wonder if it's different neurochemistry or genetics or what. ex CIA agent?

That's pretty unusual.
