Why does opioid withdrawal have to be so fucking wet?
Like vomit, diarrhoea, sweating, rhinorrhea, lacrimation (not had this, but: involuntary ejaculation)...every friggin' bodily fluid.

I have Cyclizine....if I took a lot (like 4 or 5, definitely not enough for that horrible delirium first generation antihistamines can cause at very high doses) would it help? 'Cause they dry you up, right? An the nose and eye stuff at least is really common in allergies, too.

P.S. If you can tell me what movie I quoted, I'll give you a cookie :)

P.P.S. Yes, technically, it's a quote from Cum Guzzling Rim Whores 9, but I don't mean THAT film.

Try some promethazine.

You can take a few just don't get silly with the doses. You know, take a couple see how you feel. Wait 30-69 mins maybe a couple more. Etc

Loperamide for shits obviously.

Should help. Hopefully.

I usually start with 36mg on first day works. Then 24mg next day, then 12, 6, 4, 2 and 1 if you got tablets you can half.

Give it and hour if you're still shitting mad, try adding another 16mg in. Then follow that regime. Works for me.

Yeah and on top of that my sense of smell becomes painfully sharp and I can smell EVERYTHING. The acrid sweat, the liquid shit stench... so gross.

I get mad lacrimation; tears pouring out and mixing with the sweat. The smell of salt and a mix of layers of fresh and stale sweat.

It's just miserable.

Oh shit, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Hang in there, obviously there is a reason for your decision to get clean, the incentive is greater than the desire to continue.

cyclizines pharmacology is similar enough to diphenhydramine to worry me.

just do a search. diphenhydramine during opioid withdrawal will cause horrible RLS so bad. doing this caused me to abandon a detox once because it got so fucking bad after taking diphenhydramine

Any idea what else would help with sweating? I've randomly just started at the end of day 5 :/
BAD.
And I don't even sweat normally at all (nerve damage from diabetes).

I've only ever seen them in capsule form. Didn't know you could get them as tablets too.

I usually start with 60mgish, but this time I was entirely aiming to alievate the diarrhoea rather than try and get some activity with it crossing the BBB.

This is extremely relateable!
I hate the stink of my sweat in withdrawal. Normal thermal sweat (like from being too hot, physical exertion, etc) doesn't smell in and of itself, but it's when it starts to dry tapping bacteria and then you start sweating again, it breaks it down and the bacteria causes the odour. But withdrawal sweat is the other type. I think it's called "fear sweat", like the type caused by anxiety and that's different and does smell immediately.
It's an excuse for bathing, though. Which generally I only tolerate, but a hot bath in withdrawal (as long as you're not in the middle of one of those horrible waves of burning heat) helps my muscles relax a little.

I get terrible lacrimation, too. CONSTANT yawning and pouring eyes.

Unfortunately, I'll never be able to be fully "clean" as I have severe chronic pain and genuinely NEED opioids, but I'm trying to get past the acute part of the withdrawal (taken my Morphine today, after 6 days off, like this would have been day 7) to minimize physical dependancy as much as I possibly can. Gonna try and take days off from it as well, if my pain levels allow it some days.

I just got to a point where I spend almost all of my time obsessing about how much Morphine I have, how long it'll last, dreading the inevitable time when I run out etc.

the levels of stress they put pain patients through over getting enough or getting any medication in and of itself contributes to increased pain.

it’s been shown that stress causes inflammatory cytokine release, lack of sleep (more pain), eating carb and sugary inflammatory foods, and hyperalgesia

i remember 2 weeks out of spine surgery crippled and should’ve been in bed having to go to 7 different pharmacies because the pharmacists didn’t feel comfortable filling fentanyl patches for a new patient. all that driving and standing in line destroyed my back even worse when i should’ve been in bed. i seriously considered waiting in the parking lot and crippling one of them so they can see what it was like.

fuck these police and legal institutions interfering with medical practice

100% agree with everything you said.
And sorry you've also had such a shitty/stressful experience with this.

this was when i lived in a republican state.

havnt had much problems since moving to a deep blue state other than not being able to get MME of a good opioid instead of methadone.

but methadone lasts long as fuck and the analgesia is just as good….its just got a dirtier feel to it side effects and harder to kick.

my ideal script would be large amounts of hydrocodone (60 to 100 mg per day), doctor said he could only do up to 30 mg per day so i took the methadone which is 3X as much MME i’m getting vs what he was offering me of the hydro

you need to have an emergency stash of some suboxone at least

something you won’t take for pain and won’t take until you’re actively withdrawing - suboxone is perfect to save your ass in that scenario

It is, but there is no way I would be able to just get that.
I'm trying to gradually build up a stash of just meds I cannot go without and also meds that would help withdrawal.

I have a 14 day supply stashed away for Sertraline, Cyclizine and Depakote. I've started adding a little Gabapentin at a time, currently have a 5 day supply (trying to eventually get 14 days stash of everything I absolutely have to have). Oh and today I ordered a pack of 144 (24 x strips of 6) Loperamide just so I have a really decent supply.
From my script today I've added to the stash two of my immediate-release Morphine pills and two of my extended-release Morphine pills.
Just gotta really, REALLY keep in mind not to touch them. I do have my stash stored away completely seperate to the rest of my meds.

I’ve heard Clonidine helps sweating, Drs prescribe it for menopause for this reason. You would have to be able to get a prescription. I’ve never used it for opioid withdrawal though.
