posting when high indicator

When I was on staff I tried adding my sobriety or lack thereof status to my signature for a while but it was a pita to keep on top of.

Besides I'm still not sure where exactly the line between significantly altered and fit for duty is
We are rolling out a volunteer agreement soon - just getting the technical aspects sorted. In it is a clause for volunteer moderators to agree that they will refrain from moderating when they are "significantly impaired" by substances etc. As to how to judge that, naturally, that will be for each individual moderator, and it's obviously harder to judge when you are actually impaired! But we would advise that moderators who may be significantly impaired to step away from Bluelight for the time being. (This language was also chosen because some people - e.g. with dependencies or other medical conditions - are more impaired without their drug of choice on board, so we wanted to reflect that it is about impairment not about how many or how much drugs are consumed.)

There's no such clause in the general terms of service to soon be rolled out, and we do expect that many community members will be posting while in various states. Letting people know at the beginning of a post or at the end as a bit of a disclaimer isn't a bad move!

Also, generally at Bluelight, we've been pretty understanding if someone posts while high and then regrets it later - e.g. if this is occasional, even when rules are broken. But if it's a significant pattern and is causing issues, then we still need to act, but with some understanding that drug use is expected around here.
