I have tons of dissociative experience, and as far as I am aware, I have taken a good portion of dissociatives to hit the market since the MXE/3-MeO-PCP days. Just counted and I have taken 22 different dissociatives. You know what? Let's count salvia divinorum for now just so that I can say I've taken 23 dissociatives (Michael Jordan rare air)
I am very tired from work so will keep it short for now. Out of every dissociative that I have tried, DXM has the potential to be the most visually rich (in terms of CEVs). Arylcyclohexylamines tend to take me to a more subdued and darkened sort of architecture, buildings, rotating gears, etc. Similar to the water ways and palaces that DMT guides one through, just much less colorful , less vivid and without a feeling of entity contact or being "guided" through it, just floating.
DXM has teleported me to very rich visual landscapes that I could guide myself through, it has taken me to heavenly places in the clouds that I could see as if I were actually taken there. Have been able to experience life in different scenarios, literal months and years of life experienced within the span of minutes while on DXM, I have had opened eye visuals in the form of out-of-body experiences.
DXM also has by far the most profound music euphoria I have ever experienced when mixed with weed. DXM has the capacity of being far more euphoric than basically any other drug that I've tried (roughly 150 unique drugs). The downside is that the likelihood of experiencing dysphoria is far greater than basically any other dissociative besides DCK ime. It has a very heavy body load and your next day is basically shot because it just leaves you feeling "gross" physically. If not for the heavy body load and recovery period lasting 1-3 days beyond the initial high, I'd use it far more.
Now I tend to view it more as a psychedelic. It will likely be challenging at points, there will be a body load but there is potential for a truly profound experience. I developed insomnia around 6 years old when my mom was diagnosed with cancer. I would be up all night scared that my mom would die and she would fade into eternal nothingness. The concept of "eternal nothingness" is fucking terrifying at 6 years old. This lasted until I was 16 or so and had a DXM experience where I experienced my own death, watched my family attend my funeral, I watched them grieve over the coming months and years; and eventually saw that in the end, they were okay and were able to live their lives. My fear of death evaporated that night and has not come back. I am 32 in less than a month.
DXM will always hold a very dear place in my heart. Though I have only taken it maybe 3 times within the last 8 years. I likely will take some this summer. I feel ready

DXM is a very deep substance, but its not easy or predictive.
You need to play around with dosing, frequency and set & setting.
To go really deep i need to take it in a blacked out room.
So i usually start dosing about 3-4h before it gets dark.
I always spread the dose and build up to a peak.
Ime it takes around 3h for it to build up to full effects.
So i usually do a few doses of 200-250mg about 45-120mins apart.
First i take 2-3 doses closer apart 45-60min inbetween.
Then later when im fully imersed i will usually take 1-2 redoses to prolong the peak.
Im also gonna use thc and nitrous with it.
So i usually end up doing a gram or more in total.
If i start on friday im not sleeping untill later on saturday sometime.
Most likely my last dose will be on saturday morning or something.
I know DXM can be lethal at +2g doses, this is why ive nvr done multiday binges of it.
Anyway once you find your dose and setting its such a experience.
In the dark the visuals are like nothing else.
There are many unique effects it can have but a few i always remember are:
The Tron like spacelike grid that you are transported to.
Some call it the dextroverse, its like floating in space with purple and neon green colors building a space like world.
Then there is the metal colored holograms!
Its like DMT entities but in the DXM dimension.
These are usually random and come and go in a few seconds.
Ive seen a Chinese dragon appearing from the floor and flying into the ceiling.
Or a small Buddha like fellow just glowing for awhile.
Then there is the flying carpet effects, these are similar to ketamine but way more intense and vivid.
I usually spend up eating pizza and listening to music those saturdays after.
Since i stock up on nitrous i tend to have enough left to play with also.
The effects of nitrous the day after +1g DXM and no sleep is quite unique.
Ive vaped DMT a few times in this state with mixed results.
