Ethnobotanicals Microdosing Iboga -- then Peyote?

If I've been microdosing Iboga relatively consistently for a week or two, so noribogaine is definitely in my system (as it stays in there for 1-2 months after the body converts it from ibogaine), acting as a natural SSRI of sorts...

Would it be dangerous to then take Peyote? Is it dangerous to do any psychedelic (including Ayahuasca) while in the Iboga afterglow (facilitated by the noribogaine hanging around in the system) ?

Thanks!

"Ibogaine HCL and Harmine HCL can be taken together in much lower doses with comparable lasting effect to “flood dose” Ibogaine treatment without the threat of cardiac complications . The chemical structures of the two are quite similar and potentiate a powerful synergy" h‍ttps://x.com/ISLAND_THUNDER/status/2007969878490353891 2026-01-04
Having that info by itself as a twitter post is the weirdest context but I'll take it.

Iboga microdosing is incredibly holistic. It helps with insight into one's purpose, general fortitude, physical strengthening, mitigation of chronic inflammation.

It helps with being "on your purpose," which in turn has a positive ripple effect towards every area of one's life. You leave the things that don't matter behind and you embrace the things that do matter, and with more gusto.

Thanks for the info.

You're welcome, would you say it's better than typical microdosing or is it an apples-oranges kind of thing?

Agreed about the link. @red22 is frequently posting social media quotes and links, but I had never heard of using MAOI with ibogaine in any context before this. I am genuinely curious but also very skeptical until I hear some 1st or even 2nd hand reports.

As far as noribogaine with mescaline, again I haven't really heard much on the subject but I don't think ibogaine is a potentiator of any sorts so I don't foresee medical complications. That said I'm not a doctor.

If you use the term "potentiator" loosely, iboga / ibogaine is definitely one. It makes other substances stronger, more noticeable, etc. I guess my question is if noribogaine has the same property. My guess is that it does, but perhaps less so.

By "typical" microdosing, do you mean like with mushrooms or LSD? And by "better" do you mean having better results? If yes to both, then yes. I dunno if it's more fun or more enjoyable, but I think with Iboga you'll get more impactful results on your life and its direction.

Beware the variety of peyote that you use, Lophophora diffusa and fricii are way more potent MAO-B inhibitors than williamsii could ever even think of being. I'm unsure how that would interact with ibogaine, but about 6 weeks ago I threatened my own wellbeing very intensely by using Lophophora diffusa while having residual methamphetamine in my system.

"There are 2 isoforms of MAO: MAO-A and MAO-B. MAO-A preferentially deaminates serotonin, melatonin, epinephrine, and norepinephrine. MAO-B preferentially deaminates [phenylethylamine] and trace amines. Dopamine is equally deaminated by both types. MAO-A, the form predominantly expressed in the gut wall and the liver, normally serves as an enzymatic barrier to systemic tyramine circulation. In the presence of monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), tyramine is unable to undergo metabolism (ie, deamination)."[ 1 ]

"MAO-A inhibition results in increases in NE, 5HT, and DA in the synaptic cleft, while selective MAO-B inhibitors increase only DA."[ 2 ]

Very interesting--I've never heard of these Peyote look-alikes. I looked them up, and it's crazy how similar they look to the "real" thing. I trust my source pretty well, so I don't think I'm in danger of making that mistake, but that's good information!!!

The only way to distinguish them is when they flower by the way, so if somebody ever claims to be able to eyeball the differences without a flower, they are without a doubt incorrect, or have stumbled upon some novel techniques that nobody I've ever met has been able to figure out.
