Cocaine How do you actually judge COKE quality?

Hey, I’ve been reading a lot here and trying to understand how people actually judge coke quality in real life.



There’s a lot of talk about things like texture, stickiness, dryness, smell, how it breaks up, etc., but also a lot of conflicting opinions.



I’m especially curious if anyone here ever had something that was actually tested (reagent or even lab) and then compared it with what they expected.



If you’re up for sharing:

- how did it look/feel? (powdery, clumpy, sticky, dry, “fluffy”, etc.)

- any noticeable smell?

- how did it behave physically? (breaking up, dissolving, moisture)

- and how did the effects compare to what you expected?



Also curious if anything surprised you — like something that looked “good” but wasn’t, or the opposite.



Not looking for sources or anything like that, just trying to understand how reliable these signs really are in practice.



Appreciate any insight.

Good Cocaine is often said to have some certain characteristic.

Touch/Feel/Appearance: ¨Fish Scale¨ is a common term used to describe the consistency of good Cocaine. If you want a more in-depth description, I would suggest using Google and taking in some screenshots.

Smell - Pure Cocaine is essentially odorless. Being that Cocaine is made in clandestine labs, the chemicals used in the work up can be present in the finished drug due to incomplete distillation. This might, for instance, mean Gasoline. Cocaine Base, when burned/vaporized is noted for its unpleasant, chemical/medicinal odor. I would compare the smell to burning plastic, though not quite as offensive. SIDEBAR: Fentanyl vapor, smells like burning action figures, it´s terrible.

Some people will say ¨if it makes you go numb, it´s quality¨. This is a very common misconception. There are numerous Cocaine analogs that produce the same numbness but are not controlled drugs. Cocaine is frequently cut with these chemicals i.e. Benzocaine etc.

These are all qualities that you will take note of as you´re getting ready to blast some up your nose. All of these things pale in comparison to how the drug actually effects you. It´s safe to say that ¨good¨ Cocaine will likely have many of these qualities, but it´s not a guarantee.

90% of the test is going to be how it makes you feel. All of the other stuff are just useful tools to help you make an educated guess without actually taking the drug.

¨Bad Cocaine¨ is frequently cited as causing uncomfortable body-load, tachycardia/tension and otherwise feeling ¨dirty¨. Cocaine is commonly cut with Caffeine among other chemicals. I

With really good coke when you IV it you are overwelmed with that gasoline taste and smell. When i had a coke seizure from to much top gear the smell and taste was insane

If its untouched from south america it will smell like gasoline still from the extraction from coca leaf. In North America they cut and rerock or even clean cuts out with Acetone, so it'll smell of acetone. I had some from Bolivia straight off the brick and gasoline smell was there, it was said to be essentially uncut, didnt observe it much before it was crushed up so no idea if it had the fishscale quality to it.

A lot of people mention things like flakes, texture, smell, how it breaks up, etc. as signs of “good quality,” but honestly it seems like many of those characteristics could probably be imitated or influenced pretty easily nowadays.





What I’m really curious about is something more concrete:





Has anyone here ever had a sample that was actually lab tested (drug checking / GC-MS etc.) and then compared the results with how the product looked, felt, smelled, or behaved?





I’m especially interested in cases where someone genuinely knew the composition or purity from a real analysis — not just assumptions based on effects or appearance.





Would love to hear any real experiences with that.

This may not answer your questions directly but when I was in Mexico, I got speaking to the locals and got introduced to a high level dealer, maybe even a cartel member but I never asked, but I got some REAL untocuhed stuff, stuff that had been produced from cocaine base to cocaine hydrochloride and they pressed into a brick.

The powder was a beige, kinda fluffy powder. I dabbed a bit to taste it before i bought it and by the time I got back to the hotel, the whole bottom of my face was numb.
It was the best fucking coke high ive ever experienced. Very, very euphoric, such a clean un-jittery high. 1g lasted two days. It was amazing cocaine but it wasnt rocky, or like fish scale.

Did you notice any taste/drip in the back of your throat afterwards? If so, how would you describe it?

Cut shit on the streets if dry and not oily it’s all cut…

Pure Tropaine alkaloid is very oily …..but thin little lines and you’ll know if you get a euphoric high

Cocaine DAT>SERT>NET 60-80% purity would be amazing . In reality 30-50 average depending. Pharma NUMBRINO Cocaine HCL USP and you’d know certainly …..even my buddy way back wasn’t 100% pure but euphoric amazing Yayo. Best you’d ever get in Canada at least.

Go to Columbia…..Yayo is almost a light yellow tint, oily residue on your finger tips and smells like FIRE

Onset, numbness (Distinctive numbness), heart rate.

I never fucked with enough to actually do anything to test it other than that --- I can say that most coke blows. *Rimshot* at least where I am (which it makes sense it would honestly).

He ends up in a hostage situation, demands a plane and half a million dollars. "2 weeks later" and he's unconscious in a gutter getting his shoes stolen by street children.

I can tell that you don't have a multitude of first-hand experience either with the drug or the culture of buying/selling. Heroin was my DOC. I never used Cocaine for more than a "one-off" night. I could never rationalize spending Heroin money on Cocaine, but to each his own. I'm intending to highlight the differences between the two.

Cocaine would very, very often be criticized when people I knew bought it. It seemed like 50% of the time you'd get the "yea, it's good" (it's real and not bunk), 25% of the time there would be a more legitimate issue with the drugs, perhaps questioning the authenticity but still getting the numbness and some stimulation. 10% - this is fake, what are we gonna do about it. 5% - This is the best Coke I've ever had, wow!!! I'm sure when you run in circles where people are doing Coke every day, they identify good sources. If you're just "one of the boys" looking for some Cocaine on a Friday night, the above-stated is probably close to your reality.

If you're relatively savvy with people, body language, knowing the right terminology, not making yourself a target (like by asking this kind of question, for instance) you're more likely to get a "passable" product than not.

I remember after the first few times I did coke I kept thinking I was catching whiffs of something familiar at gas stations.

I wasent a coke head per se as i was doing it no more then 3 times a week really. But i still got coke dreams when i quit. Theyve gotten better with time though

Washing it, including targeting washing levamisole out may be your best bet to figure out what percentage you end up with, that's the actual cocaine. There are also some non-cocaine alkaloids that inevitably end up in it as they're nearly identical alks, cocaine after all is just a plant alkaloid.

Okay I got the impression you were using a bit more than that (Idk why) -- yea I havent had one in a decade and a half. I would like to say willpower or w/e but honestly the coke has just been very 'take it or leave it' -- and that was in the 2010s.
