Tryptamines Taking Shroom Tea At Intervals

If one has some shroom tea, would sipping it at intervals, would that extend the effects, or be a waste. Ideally the intensity would be less, but over a longer period of time. The time frame would be consuming the tea is say in intervals over an hour, maybe an hour and a half. Maybe one portion every 15 minutes to 20 minutes, depending on whether it is over an hour or an hour and a half.

I'm not inexperienced with psychedelics, just have only used them in singular doses, and shrooms only twice. Just figured I'd ask for thoughts and opinions.

The major effect of sipping in intervals will reduce the speed and intensity of the come-up. The peak may also feel qualitatively different---slower and perhaps easier going, but of course the intensity at the peak depends very much on the dose too. And yes, it may extend the duration of the experience but not by much unless you keep dosing.

Assume the standard 3.5 grams, spread out over an hour and a half at eve intervals.

The hope would it would be like a longer 2 gram experience, if that makes sense. Not exactly, but just generally a lower intensity, longer experience.

For starters, mushrooms vary considerably in potency, even within the same batch, so there's nothing really standard about 3.5g other than it's very approximately equal to 1/8 oz, which is kind of a round number. If you want to standardize your doses, take a large batch of dry mushrooms, grind them to powder and mix well. Store the powder in a cool, dark place, in an air-tight container with some desiccant. Then you have to sample them to calibrate their strength. There are other ways to get standardized doses, but this is the simplest I know of.

My guess is that if you take 3.5 g of some standardized powder spread out over 1-1.5 hours, you'll still trip harder than if you took 2 g all at once. The 3.5 g may feel closer in intensity to 2.5-3 g, but it will still be qualitatively different. Either way, you'll have to experiment to find out until you are familiar with the strength of a particular batch of powder.

To get mushrooms to last longer, you need to redose (roughly 3-4x the last dose every time you redose), making extracts or concentrates can make redosing easier. Indolic psychedelics almost always form a steep tolerance right when you dose, I'd try to finish the tea within 20-30 minutes if possible, I've done it over an hour or so before but it's not going to make it any longer, just weaker.

I had 2.5 grams of hillbilly strain cubensis in a tea 2 days ago and was sipping it over an hour, which is pretty extended.
the effects included about 3 hours of intense yawning and closed eye visuals that also formed patterns over open eye scenes, but the whole thing did not last more than 7 hours and it was actually long enough.
