hi everyone! My names Christopher and I’m 39 years old — I’ve been a dedicated psychonaut since I was 18 years old (21 years now!) and I’m kind of shy on the forums so I’ve never really registered on any forums before, so here goes!

Anyway I’m just looking to make some friends here and hopefully share my ideas that I have for new research chemical compounds based on my extensive knowledge of structure activity relationships, lock and key theory, neuropharmacology, and such …. I’m extremely creative and I have a photographic memory which helps me to build new compounds in my mind (by looking up and visualizing other known ones and being able to combine them or tweak functional groups) … I’m looking to connect with some more experienced posters here and make some friends ..

Please PM me if you’re cool and you think the same of me! I’d love to get to know some people on here!

we have a neuroscience and pharmacology sub forum you might want to check out.
and of course you are also welcome to read and write in all other topic specific or social threads we have.

Neat! I actually have some questions about certain chemical reactions for a book I've been working on and close to having a first draft completed

I have no understanding of chemistry beyond surface level basics, but to add color to my writing I'd like to be able to describe the sensory details like if a reaction is hot or it bubbles or changes colors and what not. Are you able to read a synthesis and have a good idea of what it would actually look like in process?

Nice handle you picked for yourself. Don’t be shy, we are all mad here. What is it like having a photographic memory? Do you ever experience sensory overload? The mind and its numerous functions / capabilities never ceases to amaze me.

I’m M!$TER-ED, I wish I understood organic chemistry as well as many here do so could join in the discussion, but not my strongpoint. I guess it’s like having a strong math background, either you get it or you don’t?

Bluelight is a great place to meet and interact with people of like mind and background. If you’re here you have an interest or a history of drugs and a member of this community.

We have both a Basic Drug Discussion as well as a Neuroscience and Pharmacology forum.

We could really do with an intermediate level forum as I feel to many BLer feel a bit out of there depth in the latter, but equally feel that basic knowledge is now TOO basic for them to advance. I don't know if this was by design or an oversight.

But if you struggle with a single aspect discussed in the latter, ask. Everybody here absolutely wants to ensure that they are welcomed and supported whatever reasons they arrived here.
 
Shoot for awhile in between highschools I was going to one of those online highschools....

But my parents being the good parents they are way overestimated my intelligence and got me into one that could get you into like ivy league schools (Supposably - point is it was SO MUCH harder than US highschool)
like to the point I didnt even attempt most subjects and basically only did chemistry and I thought i was doing horrible --- I guess I had gotten pretty far, like 2 years worth in six months. I wish I still had those courses!!

YOU CAN SKIP ALL OF THAT. Actual Question --- Are there like free adult entry to chemistry type classes online that you know of? Like all the way back to learning/calculating molar mass -- not a recipe book.

I think the “other drugs” subforum ideally acts as an intermediate forum, where questions too complex for basic drug discussion can be fielded, which aren’t as hypothetical as to fit in the neuroscience and pharmacology discussion sub.
 
There should be a general "Learn chemistry" -- not like synths but fundamental chemistry learning linked to the site somewhere. In the name of harm reduction --- not just cuz its something I wanna learn....

Not to spam but I’ve read this one blog for like 13 years which discusses things centered around medicinal chemistry which has helped me find current research.

not exactly what im looking for haha im more after like school pamphlets with the answers and explanations at the back of the chapter. Real fundamental shit -- I think they do have a build a molecule for ppl who made it that far?
