Does anybody else consume a concerning amount of caffeine and worry about their bone health?

Hmm.. i drink at least one cup a day. What's the concern with bones?
I guess it's no big deal, but apparently overuse of caffeine can lead to leaching of calcium from the bones? Just a matter of getting supplemental calcium, I guess.

I drink a lot of caffeine and I worry sometimes I'm overdoing it.

I’ve heard of caffeine chelating ions like calcium when taken with supplements, is this how that works or is it some mechanistic manner where caffeine changes the equilibrium between bone deposition and resorption?

Caffeine

The relationship between caffeine and calcium intake, and its effect on bone health, is complex and multifaceted. While some studies suggest that caffeine may interfere with calcium absorption and increase calcium loss through urine, leading to a decrease in bone density, moderate coffee consumption is generally not associated with a significant impact on bone health in individuals with adequate calcium intake.

Seems every other year Caffeine shifts between being mega good for you to the devil himself.

at least there's some high numbers in this study for a change!

if you're in a susceptible group if might be worth looking into more but for the average then seems like it's no big deal if you're not taking too much

yeah if you’re smashing caffeine all day it can mess with calcium a bit, but it’s usually about balance, if you eat decent and don’t go crazy with like 6 coffees daily you’re probably fine, if you are, maybe cut it down slowly not cold turkey or you’ll feel wrecked

It's unlikely for a natural plant such as caffeine to cause such calcium issues, unless you inherit, some serious diseases from your bloodline.
And even if you, then you must visit a neurologist but first of all the basics getting done by your family doctor and to rule others out, worst case, some biopsies. :) which well.. is not exactly what you woke up to, you must be able to have some mental capability to understand the hardships and the insane eyeballing you get when you have some life-threatening disease. It's cases over cases..

anyway no, and for coffee itself, just drink the damn thing, it helps and your whole body detoxifies because of the antioxidants it has, also strong coffee might actual kill some cavities too. Apparently? I don't read such studies and very few have a grounding point and that's thanks to the medical comitee giving money-hungry scientists/docs some reality checks. Speaking of coffee and myths or coffee and science? idk i lost the story thread by now ahaha... caffe latte/milk coffee(simpler version, no toppings or such, just plain 1.5-3.5 milk) does NOT make it bolder than it.

reminds you to thread carefully when you talk about subjective preferences. There's tons of pure governamental speculation being sold on the market for the less price that was fixed by the gov health dep from the talks they had with the srl in question, and those talks end up being sold in natural shops or pharmacies and all possible locations, because people do not care about themself.
One such hoax it's the greatest Vit.K aka blood vitamin which helps in wound healing, that's K1. It's real.
K2?... Hmm, let's not start. Just ask a woman who has osteoporosis.
