I have been taking Kratom for a couple of years now. I used to take 5 grams most days, but I have cut that back to less than 3, 5-6 days a week. I will get a buzz maybe once a week, every 5 days max. I have Oxy (but hardly ever take it....I've been holding it for 2 years now, LOL) and fentanyl and 7 O. I don't really like the fent so will take the 7O. Usually about 20-25 mgs or so.

This schedule has prevented me from getting addicted. But I have 2 surgical procedures coming up and will need to take pain killers for 5-7 days after each.

Please give me some advice so as not to get addicted. One, I imagine, is to keep the procedures at least 2 weeks apart.

Also very important would be cut your opioid tolerance ( including kratom and 7oh) as absolutely much as possible so that your prescribed amount will work ok. If you keep taking what you are and then stack on top with what they prescribe you in order to get pain relief, then I think you will be looking at developing much higher tolerance/dependence, which means either withdrawal or a higher ongoing baseline of usage.
Also, I don't see how keeping the procedures only 2 weeks apart will help, though maybe I misunderstand you. Seems like as close together as that might cause your run of higher dosing to run pretty much continuously for a longer time.
I guess a lot of this will depend on what type of surgery/ recovery time you are looking at, like, will you be prescribed for a few days or a few weeks, and at what doses. It also depends on how much your regular doses of kratom and 7 oh are able to control the pain on their own with minimal stacking.
I would be cautious about running up your tolerance at all pre surgery. I noticed in another post that you mentioned a bit of partying you did with added fentanyl and oxy and 7 oh. That's a pretty jump higher than just a few grams of kratom a day.
I wish you good luck with your surgeries and with controlling your dosing. From the way you have described your usage over the past few months, you seem pretty good with keeping a grip on it all but it's easy for it to get out of hand.
Also, can you give us a good, full, accurate account of how your usage goes through all this? I think it could be helpful to people using this forum ♥️

Thanks. Yes I did get a nice buzz last night. I will be back to under 3 grams of Kratom for at least 5-6 days. Actually I will try and go 7 days...next Sat my wife and I are going out dancing and I will take some ecstasy...usually just 2/3rds of a hit. Then the next day I will feel crappy so maybe a little 7O then. So that will be 8 days of no heavy use.

I actually ended up only doing 3 grams of Kratom and 10 mgs (a tiny bit) of 7O. So more than a week w/out getting high on opioids. I am delaying the shoulder surgery as well.

I log in and see that a former mod OD'ed, as did the person who reported the tragedy, just horrible.....this forum keeps me in check.

I really believe I have opioids in check, my problems is sleeping meds. I take Seroqell and ambien as prescribed. But I have not been able to stop taking ambien on top. I will take .5 and just lie there and can't sleep unless I take another .5 mgs. I don't get high, I just want to sleep.

I have had a lifelong battle with insomnia.

They put me on 300 mg of Seroquel just for insomnia. I knew nothing about Seroquel when I started it, but after researching about Seroquel, I decided to get off of it asap.

I made an embarrassing video of myself talking very awkwardly about Seroquel :ROFLMAO:

with the frequency you are using kratom it sounds like you are likely physically dependent on opioids.

can you not take any for 10 days and not have any withdrawal symptoms?

you take it 6 days a week. stopping for 3 days in a row and concluding you aren’t dependent isn’t long enough in my experience.

withdrawal dependent on the opioid can peak as late as 7 days after your last dose.

as far as the surgery just taking as little as possible is what you need to do. i wouldn’t mix kratom with traditional opioids, they don’t seem to synergize well at all ime

So you don't think reducing to 3 grams of Kratom is sufficient? Some nights I only take 2.4 grams (4 .6 gram caps). I do notice I get a bit of a runny nose if I don't take it.

Seroquel def caused weight gain in me. What helped a lot was intermittent fasting. I basically don't eat all day. Then I have a blueberry and strawberry protein drink before the gym.

reducing why? to mix it with the prescribed meds?

i would just take one or the other not both. they don’t mix well imo. i felt like kratom blocks normal opioids.

sounds like you are physically dependent. runny nose is a withdrawal symptom. what’s the longest you’ve gone recently without taking kratom?

Take NSAIDS like Tylenol and such before you feel pain. Taking weak pain meds before pain sets in prevents it all together.

At least in my experience w/surgery. Can't speak for anyone else.

I completely forgot that I got off of Seroquel about 1.5 years ago. This was the first time that I was off of it since I made that video 7 years ago.

I am almost positive that some of the weight loss was weight, but in under 2 weeks of being fully off of Seroquel, I ended up losing a LOT of weight.

I was getting concerned because I was barely 130lbs when I was taking it every night.

Eventually my weight evened out more, but it's still crazy how fast I lost weight.

I am now positive that Seroquel did make me gain weight. When I was taking it, I was waking up every night and eating like almost a whole meal's worth of food. I couldn't even walk past my fridge without opening it up.

Also, the Seroquel made me use less discretion when it came to the types of food that I was eating. Similar to when a person is drunk or sobering up- eating too much and eating foods that they would not eat otherwise.

I have not taken more than 3 grams of Kratom any day this week nor any opioids. I took 1.2 grams of Kratom last night. I went from 5 grams, to 3 grams to now less than that.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but isn't a defining characteristic of addiction the taking of more, not less?

addiction and physical dependence are two different things that are often conflated.

i’m asking questions to determine if you are physically dependent or not.

Depending on the surgery, you might be able to get non opioids medications for the pain,e.g., Flexeril, 800 mg ibuprofen, gabapentin, hell even valium sometimes. Take those on a schedule to get the peak plasma levels up. Other people mentioned reducing your kratom dose further and taking either kratom or regular opioids but not both. That is solid advice.

I am not taking ibuprofen for shoulder replacement...that is insane. Yes, as mentioned I only took a gram .2 of Kratom last night.

You do understand that 1.2 grams of Kratom is the equivalent of half a drink, yes? Some people are taking 40 grams a day. Some people are taking 300 mgs of 7O a day. My coffee addiction is worse.

Sounds like you may have a problem already
Kratom addiction
You mention that 7o junk
And fentanyl

I can see no point in taking that much kratom ,40 grams a day is an insane amount and a waste as well
