Not a fan of either tho tbh.

Protestant orange marches in the UK have previously been restricted to specific areas
It's a religious gathering just like any others mentioned on thread but has severe restrictions placed on it ?

Obviously we all know why, because people of a different faith are offended
But what is the difference
If it is deemed offensive to March as a protestant, can it be deemed offensive to pray as a Muslim ?

That's just a question if anyone would like to answer

If you ban public prayer, then that'd also include Christians which encompass a large portion of the people wanting to stop Muslims from praying in public.

Kinda reminds me of how here in the USA where they loosened restrictions that prevented kids from starting Christian clubs at school. By allowing kids to start Christian clubs they also had to allow kids to start Satanic clubs.

Obviously we all know why orange marches have restrictions but I was just pointing out restrictions placed on one faith and not on others

Should all be held to the same standard, probably
That was my point ,probably didn't get it across very well
Maybe if the police new before hand that their maybe premeditated violence they might put restrictions on all public prayer

Are Christians allowed to shut down and occupy large sections of public property in order to pray? I have no idea.

Maybe have designated prayer zones , like a rec center where you have birthday parties or family reunions. Mosques and churches could rent them out if needed as a place to pray on the go when you're out and about. Christian's have an advantage though because they can just do it in their heads as they're walking or doing other tasks ....

Also what about all the atheists and agnostics? When are we gonna get our piece of the pie?

Not so much praying but religious marches which really is the same (I think anyway)
In Northern Ireland certain sections of Belfast are cordoned off to stop the march going through Catholic areas ,it does go through some Catholic areas but a massive police presence stops it taking certain routes
There are over a dozen marches

During the troubles they were often banned from marching

There are orange marches in Glasgow as well that have faced the same problems in the past

So yes ,whole public areas are shut to traffic and unless you want to listen to sectarian chanting people as well

Orange marches go out of their way to troll Catholic areas. They take the piss. I’m not touching you, I’m not touching you…

Purely for safety reasons they need muzzled frankly. Also for not being a dick for dickish reasons reasons.

A few random images of Christians and Muslims (and occasionally Jews) existing peacefully together in Muslim countries.

An image can “prove” anything you like. Memes are a step down even from that when it comes to critical thinking…

I think an equivalent image would be a group of Christians gathered together publicly in an Islamic country , being able to freely worship together, and being tolerated and treated as equal. Not just random people grouped together standing around. I'm not saying these pictures don't exist, but these aren't them. I'd also be interested to know how apostates and atheists are treated there?
