Trigger Warning Should public prayer be bannned in the UK?

I went to a non-denominational school despite coming from a Catholic family, and we were forced to pray and sing hymns. You were in massive trouble otherwise.

In the end it was just a case of putting your head down, but you could have fun with the hymns. Kum Ba Ya? Kiss My Arse. And so on.

This is very true. I had to go to a Christian school and it definitely didn’t help with my general fukked-upness.

Religious trauma is a very real thing and a legitimate argument against public displays of religion imo.

I agree ,sometimes it can depend on location as well and whether there is a divide that has been installed in children by there parents and society at a very young age

When I used to visit my grandparents (which was in quite a disadvantaged area) the first question I was asked when I went out to play with the other kids was" what foot do you kick with"
We could have only been around 6 or 7 so division instilled at an early age

Never went out to play much anyway ,was to scared lol

This is pertaining to the current debate about the mass Muslim prayer session in Trafalger square to celebrate the end of Ramadan.

In my opinion, this is a resounding 'yes'.

Prayer, should be a private affair, not a public spectacle with your arses in the air.

I'm personally sick of religion (of all denominations) being forced down my throat.

Do what you want, but do it in private.

Thoughts?
Hail The Obby Oss & the amazing Rap Battle Skills it has.
Only in Wales could this happen.

The weird part is "Obby Oss" maybe Welsh but it's also Black Country too.
It means around here "The Hobby Horse" & if you said "Obby Oss" to anyone in The Black Country they would know 100% what you are on about.

I'm neither Welsh, nor a black countryman.

But I knew exactly what it meant.

Shades of the Wicker Man...

Doesn't Walsall get its name from being full of Welsh people? A guy from Walsall told me that.

TBH That part of The Black Country is full of people who have been sleeping with their sisters, you wanna see real Chav types go pay that place a visit.
The only part of that name that is fitting is the "Wall" part, a huge wall should be built to keep the people who live there away from the rest of the planet.

I really couldn't give a shit if people of any religion want to do an organised prayer in public. Likewise if a bunch of people want to get together and smoke weed. It does me no harm. Only exception is those bothering women outside abortion clinics.

Yeah im of the same opinion as long as there not hurting me or forcing their crap down my throat im cool with them.

How often does it happen anyway? Just a Reform talking point IMO and I'd rather be around a bunch of Muslims than a bunch of Reformers.

And that's why an exclusion zone has been imposed, and quite rightly.

And many of the people who complain about Muslims praying in public in UK will be "waaaah, Christians are being prevented from just praying silently in public" (outside abortion clinics).

Oh no, not that I disbelieve racism exists, but there’s plenty if us who fully go to bat for multiculturalism who also have a major issue with public forms of religion of any and all forms.
