Greetings.

So, whenever I try to access through a normal browser (Im using TOR right now)
it says "My IP address is banned"...

I tried to reach out through a ticked, and one of the admins Alasdair M
responded, but he seems to have no idea what is he doing, and he stopped
responding to my emails, as he said, my IP address AND account is not banned.

My IP address clearly is:
@edit /redacted my ip address/

(yes, I have tried to make an account with fake email address first,
because I hate sharing my true email address.. can you blame me?
Then I said fuck it, and made an account with legit email)

Can someone competent please look into it? Thank you.

The IP address that Cloudflair has cited is not banned in our present software database but it might have been banned in previous iterations of software. I can only see the present database because our website domain has changed at least twice in our 26 year presence on the net. This address does, however, appear on the "banned list" on Cloudflare's independent banned list. If you wish to proceed further I suggest you contact Cloudflair and see what they have to say.

No clue how this can happen though doubt alaisdair might be though ? For most of us this is abacadabra.

Being constant being blocked would eventually deter me from trying.Good taking the effort to post it with a pic, there are a lot on Bluelight with insight. Patience.

Why you reply is not here, Cheshire sir?.. Seriously? To contact cloudflare, I have to make another account, because of course, they dont have a public email..
No way Im making an account on cloudflare JUST for that.. And no way Im calling their bots either.

Is there seriously nothing you guys can do? I doubt it. I dont think I will try to contact them, using VPN is much more easier than trying to do that honestly..

I removed my reply while I looked deeper into this issue. I re-instated it once I had done some research.

Im 100% sure that ban happened recently. No way Im trying to contact them, I will just keep using Tor then, it's much less painful than trying to work with them.

Man, Cloudflare sucks. Thanks.

Thats silly tbh, that you guys cant do anything with that.
They have more power than you then lol.

This 'protection' still seems pointless, if anyone with a Tor browser can bypass it.. Is it just to annoy people or what? :p🤡

Man, they are clowns. Thank you for your help guys, you too, Alasdair.
This protection is useful in other ways. Since a IP can be banned, once it is it is no longer a possible vector in a denial of service attack and the web service at large is protected. It is a compromise, absolutely; but ALL engineering decisions are, in one way or another.

It's most likely that Cloudflare is having issue's on there end right now. Just wait. Or it's what you said. OP.

PDX (Portland) on 2026-03-17

In progress - Scheduled maintenance is currently in progress. We will provide updates as necessary.
Mar 17, 2026 - 14:00 UTC

Scheduled - We will be performing scheduled maintenance in PDX (Portland) datacenter on 2026-03-17 between 14:00 and 23:45 UTC.

Traffic might be re-routed from this location, hence there is a possibility of a slight increase in latency during this maintenance window for end-users in the affected region. For PNI / CNI customers connecting with us in this location, please make sure you are expecting this traffic to fail over elsewhere during this maintenance window as network interfaces in this datacentre may become temporarily unavailable.

i've been researching your issue. i'm sorry i did not get back to as quickly as you would have liked. bluelight is run by volunteers who have many other demands on their time.

this is about the 4th or 5th insult you've flung my way. call me crazy but insulting and abusing somebody from whom you're requesting help seems like an odd strategy.

:(

Was that an insult? I don't know man. Im sorry if you felt insulted. I was a little bit rude in the ticket, yes, but I didn't really insult you.
Thats mainly because Im dealing with a back pain right right now, and it hurts like hell if I dont have a medication. I can sometimes be harsh, I apologise for that.

You guys are doing this shit for free? No way. In that case, you was very responsive, Alasdair.

^Yea they are -- all volunteers.

I was a bit surprised to learn that too a decade and a half ago. Just keep posting however your posting?

(You want to be a mod -- think of the raw power!)

Soo, here is what I found out from Cloudflare discord:
(I redacted the nicknames)

So.. Can I please have a contact to a dev (or a dev contact me), please?

Let me guess, not possible?..

"he seems to have no idea what is he doing" sure seems like an insult to me but, hey, ymmv.

i have identified the block in our cloudflare dashboard and have removed it. please try again and let us know if you have access?

It works perfecly fine now, Sir. Thank you.

Man.. You did not deserve that

What some power-users and semi- idle novices enthusiats seems falling short at, it's the fact that all devices use IPv4/6, therefore a newsletter publically made by Microsoft not so long ago(around 4 yrs or so) 4 being the most extreme, could be 3, that we ran out of allocated IPv4 addresses, and to counterattack this, they said we'll soon move to IPv6, where this will become a very unlikely scenario, so if such disaster happens, it's just an exception that will be fixed as time goes on, and all companies moving away from the standard vulnerable IPv4. This situation OP's in, happend to other 80% of the internet grid users, some of them never visited the website in question as a matter fact.

So boiling point, it's not the Bluelight fault but the DNS's powerhouse Cloudflare ;)

Most companies that I know, even Daewoo moved away from cf. It's a safety measure and well worth.
