Admin Attention Keep getting logged out even though I checked the box to stay logged in. It's incredibly annoying as I've had to reset my password multiple times.

Hey I've noticed quite a serious problem. I keep getting logged out after I close my browser/shut down my system. I am unsure what is happening. Whether this is a bug, whether someone has hijacked my system and looking at everything behind my shoulders so to speak, and being a smartarse and clearing the logins, or whatever. Tonight was the last straw. I nearly threw a punch at my monitor and yelled out a few profanities.

Then I reset my password. I wrote it down too, so hopefully no more of that. But I always set a random password, because of people who want to pry into my personal life obviously. Paranoid? You bet I am. I am noticing a pattern and it's going to escalate something serious if it keeps happening on other sites too.

Does anyone know why one keeps getting logged out of this site? Surely there has be some answer.
 
If the browser that you use clears it's cache and or cookies then you will be logged out every time, even if I check the stay logged in on the BL web site settings. That's where I would start.
Even as an Admin I have to log once in every month, so there's that ...

I keep getting logged out when I don't use the site for a certain period of time. I can reload the same page without leaving the page and it still happens.
 
this could be happening for any one of a number of reasons.

first, and maybe a little obvious, but make sure you're checking "Stay logged in" when you log in:

your browser may be configured to automatically delete cookies when it closes so check that.

it's possible you have a corrupt cookie so clear your cache and cookies.

try temporarily disabling all your browser extensions and see if that has any effect. if it does, you can add the extensions back one by one, or in batches, to identify the culprit.

check your browser security/privacy setting. change it and see if that has any effect.

It seems that whoever is watching me has decided that logging me out after every session just isn't worth the hassle any more. Whoever they are, they're probably on to someone else. I don't know who it is, but they probably presume I can't sniff them out (trust me, I can).
