Yeah - it's the ONLY time I own up to an education. Some really like an informed patient, some are confused but only those who need that power gradient don't like it.
I have totally innocently asked why I was prescribed one particular medication in a class only for the doctor to assume it's an issue. It isn't. I genuinely want to know from an expert why a given medication is the best option. If someone has been prescribing a medication for decades, no amount of book learning can beat empirical knowledge and I'm just interested.
Only once has a doctor got it wrong and I had to cushion my concerns SO cafefully to avoid offence. I got a new script... but I also got blanked as if I had set out to somehow 'defeat' the doctor.
What would the point of that be? Nobody was watching?
