PC PC Gamers - Whatcha playin?

Been going pretty hard on Far Cry 5. Decent game and the plot while a little out there is befitting of the era we live in.

Man, I saw that a 2TB SSD sata cost about $180 before Black Friday. Silly me, I thought I'd hold out and get an even better deal, or spend more and get a 4TB 'cause 2TB ain't much now, to upgrade my gaming PC storage and eventually move it to my media PC for better stability and speedy backups.

Anyhow, haven't seen the 2TB drop below $350 for months now. 4TB finally dropped to $700... whoopie.

Read on NPR that memory chips will be in extreme demand with little supply for the foreseeable future due to AI data farms. YAY!

HDDs are still cheap, you could get 2x 2TB 7200 RPM drives and RAID 0 them for double the read speed

A Minecraft Modpack called Gregtech: New Horizons. GTNH overhauls Minecraft so much that's it's unrecognisable. It's by far the best factory building game ever made.

More Minecraft. New game after new game. Just made a Nether portal that opened to a Nether Fortress with Blazes, the cutest mobs I can think of in Minecraft.

Is luck the stat to pick?

I've barely played fallout but I was just thinking about starting new vegas.

Luck is great for Vats spam, and money rushing.

VATS can make you sort of Flot around like Neo or Trinity in the Matrix during combat and even on Survial Very Hard kill quite nasty enemies if you have good gear

Strength 5
Perception 1
Endurance 9
Charisma 1
Intelligence 9
Agility 6?
Lucky 9

I think I can remeber picking this, luck makes guarantee ability to get 30,000 caps instantly from casinos and get banned, and critical hit chance like crazy, endurance for medical clinic implants (raise special stats) and get 10 intelligence for more skill points.

Charisma is useless, only does barter and speech stats which can be exploited via skilled and good natured character traits does something to companions but nothing that will be any kind of hindrance for the benefits you get from the points

Perception, semi dump stat can upgrade for better vats perks later but endurance, luck, intelligence and agility/strength far more vital

TLDR Sorry lots of unasked autism but in case you want some more info, FONV is king even vanilla, enable all quic saves and if your pc is good the crashes are not delibaiting else it’s 30 mins of quality of life installs for a flawless experience and cosmetic QOL

Good info. Appreciated.

I've started to try some older quality games I either wasn't into or just for the laughs, so what I had done was to, download Biomutant and trying out. It's a dystopian post-apocalyptic animal-slasher where you're some form of a mutant rabbit and you basically fight either mutant rabits or directly extreme mutated creatures from a rabbit. Dunno, haven't got so far to see exactly.

Game runs perfectly, no DLSS bs, I hate these newer games and these options. I prefer older games because of such, and optimized usage on VRAM/resources. So for what is, it's fine, but it does requires a controller rather than standard keyboard and mouse setup. I mapped some keys and can play a bit better. Mainly the dodge button which was on alt instead of ctrl.

I just pulled out today from a Brazilian seller, a legit copy of Spec Ops: The Line Premium on DVD. I had plug in my external usb dvd-rw and installed it, I then had it cloned, and now it's playable without DVD. The copy was virus free, appreciate the seller, the dude sold it to me for like half eur cent, about 1EUR and around 3EUR was the shipping. It arrived in about 5 days.

gonna play and re-live some memories of mine, i forgot this game was a horror one actually, isn't a first-person military shooter. It's more oriented towards one mind's sanity rather than being a generic shooter. It's the very reason why these mechanics are like this, because you feel like a washed-out soldier that doesn't know what happens. This game was made with such love, it's insane.

Planting a forest. My underground base is convenient for staying endermen. Who knows, maybe I'll reach the End before I give up this time?

I did not.

I deleted save after save and started again.

Never allowing myself to get very far.

I am still relatively new to the PC gaming world and have accumulated a small backlog of games. I’m also learning about sources where games are regularly offered for free or at a discount. Recently, I focused on Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, having previously played Cyberpunk 2077. I tend to choose games somewhat randomly based on items I own or have rented, while keeping in mind which games I have already played or completed on other platforms.

Star Wars optimizations on the desktop platforms is completely a middle finger to high-end hardware owners.
I can't even play the fallen order with my 980Ti water OC which as a raw power its hovering a bit above the great 1080 ti, the way I managed to OC and stabilize it's just a testimony to NVIDIA high-quality sillicon. It took me above 200€ mark to get where it is but it plays and demolishes nearly 99.8% of the gaming market.
My 4090, can't play nor the first nor the second. Luckily so, I managed to play a bit of both on a PS4 Pro and they fucking suck.

i've been playing some Metro Exodus lately, been kind of avoiding it because the previous Metro games were too scripted but this one has more open world exploration so it's pretty fun.

still have to finish Dying Light 2 at some point but got sidetracked with side quests.

i lowkey hate when games give so many side quests but play coy about when you can actually do them. sucks to move ahead in the main quest only to find out that it makes a bunch of earlier side quests irrelevant.
