I've been using kratom for about 10 years. i've quit a few times most recently quit this summer but couldnt make it last. i craved it all the time and as soon as work got stressful i was back to it. ive mostly used the leaf powder and what i think? is not a very high dose per day. i'm not always measuring but i'd say no more than a couple tablespoons a day. recently i've started occasionally buying those stupid drinks they sell at smoke shops w/ the kratom extract in it even though i know it is more dangerous.

i went to a place my psychiatrist recommended and they suggested suboxone and I said no.....i tried suboxone once recreationally years ago and it was obviously way stronger than kratom leaf powder, maybe comparable to the extract. i just felt like they were treating any case of kratom use the same whether that was someone using high dose of extracts daily versus low dose of leaf powder daily. not saying it isnt a problem but objectively those are two different situations right?

i'd really like to quit and im wondering if maybe i should call them back and reconsider? i've read on here getting off suboxone is much much worse but i don't know what else to do. i obviously do not have the discipline to stick to quitting on my own. its been 10 years of this. how much longer am i going to keep living this way? could the potential help outweight the potential harm? my relationship is in trouble because of what i am doing and you'd think that would be motivation enough to quit and not want it anymore but its not. looking for anyone who has used suboxone for kratom to share their experience good or bad. thank you.

I mean if you true heartedly feel kratom is ruining your quality of life and tapering is not working...in fact I would say this is normal to feel not so well for quite awhile- what i am saying is do not beat yourself up if you need a tablespoon.

I think you made a good decision but if you were coming off high doses of 70h maybe then you could consider it but goddamn just stay at 1mg for just at a day or something.

Most suboxone users would rather manage with kratom just keep this in mind.

Thank you, that's kind of what I figured.

Generally, it's the other way around, people often use kratom to quit opiates like suboxone. In this I would say the best thing is to just taper the dose down until you can kick it. Glad I never got too into kratom since the negative effects overshadowed the positive for me. Good luck with it.
