I choose Ativan for this post because the contents of the post are geared to poly-pharmacology. Ativan with a slower onset of action and long-half life and/or suited for long-term treatment.

I prefer Ativan and Valium for the symptoms of chronic pain sydrome and/or GAD. Ativan & Valium are better suited with high MME scores from full agonists, lower sedative score,

Zopiclone works for anxiety but are abit to sedating for most people. Ive taken them for this purpose cause they work fast
 
In my case zopiclone was almost like alorazolam but more sleepy. So yes, it helps with anxiety but its addictive.

In all honesty, though, this is a terrible idea. Zopiclone over time causes rebound anxiety and will just make things worse. I noticed this is an old thread so I hope you're in a better place now or have found a better solution.

Zopiclone is good for severe insomnia but anything longer than short term use will bite you on the ass.

I went to the doctor about my alcohol use as I was planning to stop (you can't taper booze) and was prescribed some sort of z drug
Threw them straight in the bin and kept drinking
 
You definitely can taper booze.

That's pretty shit your doc left you just to get on with it and quit. Zopiclone should've helped you sleep at least.

Decent drug in its own weird way but definitely nothing positive comes from it unless you really need to sleep and can't.

Yeah, man. I get it. For some people it's just not possible. But tapering booze is definitely possible an essential plan for anyone considering stopping.
